My OBC keeps blurting "Brake Circuit Failure" at me. I understand that this is most likely caused by a failing brake switch (?). Can someone offer the part number for it? TIA, -peterg

I just checked my calendar and if it wasn't a Wednesday, I'd offer you a free ride home in a heart beat. If I can find a must-have item that would require the use of a lift for installation, I'll consider taking the day off. If no one owes you any favors, the only thing I can think of is Grey Hound. I'll let you know if something comes up but for now I don't think my personal taxi service will be running that day... Sorry. (Amtrak). Stops in Oceanside, and couple of other points before dead-ending in downtown S.D. I did it once when I was younger (~5-6 yrs old) with my Dad going to the S.D. Zoo. I'd be happy to come pick you up in C.P. and drop you at Grand Central Station downtown... Let me know. #9. HID upgrade...adapters - from Chester Wong
Top
Date: Thu, 8 Jun 2000 18:02:56 -0700 (PDT) From: Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> Subject: HID upgrade...adapters Hey guys. Well, I was one of the first people to get the Ford parts that Ben spoke of. It turns out that the ballasts are on a national back order right now. Also, (I forget) one side of the ballast is more expensive than the other side. As Ben said, it really doesn't matter which side you get..so get the cheaper side ;) Anyway, although I thought it was very ingenious for Ben to retrofit the bulbs, I'm not sure if they will end up being in the desired located in relation to the reflector. You see, the HID bulb is much longer than the 9005/6 (I forget which one) which after you cut away plastic and stuff, you might even stick the point source even further forward. My thinking is to design an aluminum adapter that would feature the foot of the 9000 series bulb and allow you to bolt up the HID bulb to it and place it in the desired location with respect to the reflector. Done this way, you will not need to modify your headlamp housing in any way and I would suspect that his would allow you to mount the HID bulbs to any other device that accepts the 9000 series bulbs....just a thought...don't take my word for it. Anyway, I was just wondering if there was any interest in seeing a project like this go through. If so, e-mail me privately chester_p_wong@yahoo.com Thanks, Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! #10. It was a 2 beer job - from JimShadow@aol.com

Date: Fri, 9 Jun 2000 00:04:52 EDT From: JimShadow@aol.com Subject: It was a 2 beer job Got under the ///M3 tonight and replaced the reverse light switch. Not alot of room underneath there. Makes you ponder your mortality when the bottom of the car is pressed against your chest. (Floor jack and jack stands only go so high) Anyway, I also replaced that God awful lower grille in my '95 ///M car, you know the ugly slatted one. I put in the black mesh grille which looks way cool btw. In putting all the pieces back together I was left with one black piece with part #51-11-2-251-390 on it. Anybody have a clue as to what this part is for, or where it goes??? It must have fallen out when I pulled off the lower panel that resides beneath the radiator. Any help would be much appreciated!!
