#1. Help ifg wheels discolor - from Gerry Miranda

After I ot home i noticed that there seems to be "water stains" on the 2 wheels on the drivers side. Seems like soapy water dripping down the wheel dried up slightly lighter in color than the wheel. When I tried to clean this it seems to be a permanent stain (or discoloration). Anybody knows what can cause this? The dealer cleaned my car after installing the wheels. Anyone knows how to fix it? I have a few questions about the brakes on my 95 M3... 1) How much brake fluid should I buy for my mechanic to do a flush? I can't find a quantity in the service manual... Buy 2 liters....one to use, the other as a backup in case you run a little short. It has a shelf life of a few years unopened. 2) Is ATE super blue the best choice - no track driving, just aggressive street... ATE blue or yellow (TYP200)....both are excellent and have good wet boiling points in case you don't get around to changing the fluid within a year. 3) Any comments on stainless steel brake lines as now is the time to do it as I am replacing the rotors and pads too. They'll give you a slightly firmer pedal but you still have all the flex of the floating caliper system to contend with. Stick with a premium line like Fischer or Goodridge. ========================================= Steve D'Gerolamo - The Ultimate Garage 201-262-0412 / steved3@idt.net / http://www.ultimategarage.com

These two bolts were used to mount a metal bracket (top of a metal garden seat actually.....) onto which the fire extinguisher was mounted. Just run your front passenger seat all the way back and you'll see that there's room to mount a bracket to these bolts. Are the MB quart speakers shorter than the others? How does the Infinity Kappa, and the 346is ADS speakers hold up? Brent PS - thanks to everyone who has sent me advice, now I have so much more to ponder. When you get to spending too much money, there are too many options!

I thought lux is just wood trim and other items. The sunroof, computer, were standard. The other commuter goodies such as cruise, split rear seats HK stereo were all separate options, not necessarily paired with lux. I'd upgrade to a low-miles '99 with no lux but all the other stuff if I were you.<<<< The lux package is more appearance than anything, but included more comfortable power seats with smaller bolsters than the standard "vader" seats. It makes a difference on long trips. John 97 M3/4 lux

I used one of those diagnostic tools on my M3 and I'm getting a fault on one of the knock sensors. (Are there two?) Is this something serious? Can I continue to drive with one of these sensors out of commission, or am I risking damage to the engine? Any info is appreciated. Juan.
