The directions say to press and hold the 'm' button. I do not have an 'm' button on my radio. I have a '95 M3 with the stock head and CD changer. Help! Thanks, Bret

Ken Robb ack! no wonder! ;-) but hmmmm... i had that stereo in my car for 3 years and 50000 miles with no ill effect. what a coincidence that my stereo didn't kill my vanos(s) until i spent time at the track, overheated my car, and warped the head. you can see how i could have made the wrong diagnosis. ;-) P.S. bmw claims that the stereo in the 95 M3 is 100 watts. (10 speakers, 10 watts each) so do you mean i need 110 watts to have problems? the reason i ask is that if that stock stereo is 100 watts i'll eat this computer. i could put a stereo in an M3 with less then 100 watts that would blow the stock system away. in fact i could put one in with 10 watts that sounded better. so... can i put 10 watts, or 110 watts with no fear? (the system i had in my car before was only 240 watts. for me, it's not about volume it's about sound quality) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

My golden ears have turned to tin due to years of shooting, motorcycling and loud cars so you have much more expertise than I, but I think that the stock 95 system sounds like no more than 10 watts rms to me. Heck I think my 98 w/ H-K stereo sounds ok. Not great-just ok. My biggest gripe is that with the hi-fi setting off it sounds reduced in frequency response and with it on solo singers wander around the car. He doesn't need to be concerned with what you're going to do with the mounts. Just give him the part number: 23 71 1 175 424 and order two of them. Also, consider adding the UUC Transmission Mount Enforcers (TME), which add stiffening to these mounts. Don't forget to add four M10 nuts. My dealer included them in the price of the mounts. I don't know if this will cure your "popping out of gear" problem... -rb PS: Is this the same dealer who installed Sean Hester's VANOS? ;-) >From: Ed Tang <etangf1@yahoo.com> >Subject: Tranny Mount > >Hi all, > >Where would I be able to order a 320i tranny mount? The head unit changed in late '95. My 10/95 build car has the '96+ stereo.
