Thought it might be the > case with me. I've had this happen to me before as well, always during hard, straight launches onto the highway (I used to have to come off a side street onto a state highway all the time -- traffic never let up on this road). I traced it back more to personal error. In the heat of running up the gears, I would not fully engage the gear and the moment I got off the clutch it would make a scary grinding-like noise and pop out of gear. VERY bad. Now I'm more aware of pushing and pulling the gears into place (thanks for the tip, UUC) and it hasn't happened since. Yet another car-equivalent example of PEBCAK. -peterg

My dealer gave me a 20% discount, so I ended up paying $12.xx each. This price included two M10 nuts per mount. -rb >Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2000 14:04:35 -0500 >From: Andy Korczynski <Andy@casskor.com> >Subject: RE: [E36M3] Re: Tranny Mount > >Just curious, whats the going rate for the tranny mounts? > >Andy K. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Specifically, the magic 'm' > button ain't there. Yep, posted TODAY that the instructions may not work on a '95 version system. And, the original requestor was Hunter Johnson 4 days ago (Friday) - he has (had?) a 98 M3. Apparently, you've missed quite a bit of this thread. > > In the future, try checking the list archives at Suzy's web site: > > http://www.bmwmpower.com/digest/ > > You were kidding, right? No, I'm not. And the info I posted I found by searching the Bimmer.org archives. Something anyone could have done. It was neither my post, nor info that I had in my personal possesion. > (Hint, listing 1000+ individual digests is one lousy sorting interface ;-) Hint: I don't like repeating myself. If you can't take the time to read posts that interest you the first time, and/or are too lazy to search the available archives, why should I have a sense of humor to your snide comments? If *I* could search for the info ORIGINALLY, why can't you search for my post? And, have you been to the archives lately? It's NOT a listing of 1000+ individual digests - its a listing of the digest-version of the list. Several digests per day, each with about 10 posts or so. Not great, but not what you describe, either. Gee, maybe instead of a post that did nothing but moan and complain, you could offer to come up with a better search interface for the archives. Or not written anything at all. (Gee, maybe next time I know where some info might be, or know how to look for it, that someone asks for, I'll just keep my mouth shut, instead of trying to help, if this is the kind of grief I get.) Not cheerful, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4

But its as much a factor, I would think, as is the less than 100 lb wt difference quoted by BMW that differentiates the 3 models! I agree with Jim that the HP figures probably arent very accurate, and that the Cpe and Roadster exhausts allow them to produce more power...In addition, there was a helpful response that the wts quoted by BMW arent very accurate either. Folks may now want to believe this, but, hell, somethings' got to be accounting for the 1/2 - 3/4 sec difference usually reported that exhists between the models! _____________________________ Paul Elliott '99 Alpine White M3; <15000 mi; Forged M dbl-spokes; Rotex pads; Dinan Stage II Supercharger -----Original Message----- From: Ken Robb <kenrobb@willisallen.com> To: Paul Elliott <pelliott@rcn.com> Cc: E36M3 <e36m3@bmwmpower.com> Date: Tuesday, June 20, 2000 1:22 PM Subject: Re: : [E36M3] Re: 0-60 times >When we think about drag the coefficient is only part of the story.
