And I'm getting my new UUC exhaust put on tomorrow, Sean, so it'll >make >cool vroom-vroom sounds, too. Who cares about understeer/oversteer when >you >sound cool, anyway! sounding cool IS the most important thing. now weather sounding cool means the music from a good stereo, or the music from a good exaust i guess can be argued forever. ;-) (and i'm pretty sure i'd be outvoted. i mean, when brian found out i had spend more upgrading my stereo then my engine/suspension he almost kicked me out of the club!) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Although the rear suspension is completely different, the concept is the same. Just like in the ti, the rear springs come out easily. You can get them out with a pry bar with the the rear suspension just hanging free. I find you do need to remove the lower mounting bolt on the shock to get the suspension to extend enough to make the job easy. Disconnecting the rear swaybar is not necessary. Be sure to support the rear hub so it doesn't cause the axle to fully extend downwards and pinch/damage the boot at the differential. Remember to leave the car out of gear with the parking brake off or the bind on the axle will prevent the suspension from extending enough to get the springs out. Installation is the reverse of removal. -- Ron Katona '97 318ti '95 M3

I'm not gonna risk MY license over this silly >handling issue I brought up! that sounds like a great plan to me. ;-) for a few reasons: 1. i could make sure the experiments get done far from my house. ;-) 2. i know some descent little used roads for these kinds of experiements. 3. i'm the one who knows the traffic lawyer that has gotten 100% of her clients off in the past 5 years of practice. Never knew I even wanted 'em until I rented a Chrysler minivan the other day that had 'em and they were slicker than poop on crisco. Too tough to be worth it? Anyone try it? I'm sure there's a Jim that's tried it (what are the odds?). Hell, it looks like we're getting a slew of Pauls too. Sheesh. -Paul E. 97 M3/2 (manual rear vent windows)
