I believe it will only bolt directly on to a 96-99 M3 or 328. 95 & earlier E36 can be made to fit with some amount of work. For questions or picture e-mail me at cesar@cfl.rr.com <mailto:cesar@cfl.rr.com> , no price in mind just make me a fair offer. Thanks! Cesar Omar

In the majority of situations, almost ALL of the different gas stations in one area purchase gas from the same distribution centers...ie.: from the SAME tanks. The only differences is in the additive packages. These are added to the big tanks as batches. Some brands are known in the industry for having superior additive packages, such as Amoco. But many brands share additive packages in certain geographic regions. There are exceptions. In the Northeast United States, Sunoco refines all of its product in it's Marcus Hook, PA refinery and distributes it from there directly to the stations. There is no intermingling with other brand's product, straight from them to you. And, they are the only ones with 94 octane fuel around here. In my opinion, Sunoco offers the highest quality product, with the tightest quality control. However this only applies to the Northeast US. On the other side of the coin, lots of those bargain no-name stations go to the other extreme. You see, every once in a while the giant distribution centers have to clean out there big tanks, and guess who buys the sludged-up gas at the bottom of the tank for the discount prices? That's right...bargain no-name station! mark kelly No, I don't work for Sunoco >Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2000 10:54:22 -0400 >From: "Adam Fila" <ylf@mindless.com> >Subject: Re: [E36M3] Re: POLL: Gas Preference > >Actually the brand of gas has usually little to do with its content. #3. E36 Euro M3 Sunroof Problems - from carlo [deep design division]

Date: Tue, 04 Jul 2000 18:37:19 +0200 From: "carlo [deep design division]" <carlo@deepdesign.co.za> Subject: E36 Euro M3 Sunroof Problems My 1994 E36 German Spec M3's sunroof has just given up the ghost. The mechanism for opening and closing the sunroof is still functional, but the gizmo that opens the headlining when "tiliting" the roof is not working. The headlining now freely moves around. I apparently need a new "cassette". My first quote for this was $1000 [equiv] including fitting from BMW itself. My question is 3 fold: - 1.) Has anyone had a similar problem? 2.) Is the price quoted by BMW fair? 3.) Are there any other solutions other than replacing the whole cassette? Date: Tue, 04 Jul 2000 13:12:29 -0400 From: Ron Katona <rkatona@bellatlantic.net> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Re: POLL: Gas Preference I currently buy gas at a local Shell station. Better gas? I don't know. Cheaper prices? Not really. This Shell station is, however, the only station I've found near my residence that has an air hose that meets the following criteria: it's free, it's always in working order, and it easily goes up to the 50 lb I need in my Hoosiers. I will not patronize a gas station with a coin operated air hose if I have a choice. A good working free air hose says to me: we're in the business of providing service for profit. A coin operated air hose says: we're in the business of profit. What else are they going to screw you for if they're willing to nickle and dime (quarter, actually) you for air? Not knowing who's gas is really better, you have to look for the little things that indicate what type of business they run. -- Ron Katona

More than one person has found themselves with a flat tire because they used one of these pumps in the winter and had water condense in their tire valves and freeze. This can cause the valve to open slightly and bleed the air out of your tires. Look for a station that runs a hose from a bib connected to their shop compressor. Talk about making your car quick. Beware when running leaded gas though. You need to replace your cat with a 'testpipe' on raceday. Lead kills cats. And these don't have eight more lives... Seriously, though, look into your local laws, since tampering with emissions stuff can get you into trouble. On second thought, just use the UL stuff. Jeez, I ramble... -Paul E. > From: "Bryan Watts" <wattba02@wfu.edu> > If we are talking race gas, Sunoco is the way to go. They feel pretty good, but I can't really compare to stock for a few reasons... first, the OEM mounts which came off (after less than 12 months) were shot, so there was already quite a bit of play back there; and second, I also swapped out the stock springs and shocks for H&R's and Koni's at the same time. I expect these to last for quite a bit longer, although I'm not sure what Ground Control claims. They are a very impressive piece of work though. - Rich
