I know the S4 was on sale for MSRP here in the CT area 2 months after it was released. I could have gotten one if I had wanted it. In areas like Florida you can probably get it below invoice with a little research. Considering the prices they are charging over invoice.....you can fly to any part of the country, vacation and drive your car home. All this and you would break even. I won't go into the whole history of my quest for a custom rollbar. Tri-Point Engineering (Partners with TC Kline on ProParts biz) gives every appearance of a first rate shop. They gave me a ride to nearby Van Nuys Airport where I caught a shuttle bus to LAX. The car should be done within a week. Unfortunately, its a long ride and they aren't open on Saturday normally so I won't be able to take any in-progress pics. Maybe someone from the north side of LA could stop by and make sure my baby is doing ok..... Jim

Although I got the wheels, control arm fixed and the wheels aligned, I can still see that one side of the car is lower slightly than the other. The driver-side tower has been pushed up I guess and there are minute cracks around the tower. I'm thinking of adding a strut tower brace to even things out. I'd like to see what sort of response you get and what can be done about it. Can you keep me informed of what you do please? Thanks. John K '95 E36 325i <---listing towards driver-side ---------------- From: “Rodger Keesee” <> Hi all, Hit a curb the other day really hard (learned lesson about descending a hill on fresh blacktop too). Anyway, after replacing wheel, control arms, tie rod, bushings. I discover the camber is way out of spec. Camber spec: -1.27 to -0.27 degrees Actual: - 2.4 degrees This means the strut tower is leaning too far inside. Caster is a bit off too. The other side is OK, but the damaged side is half the min spec. It’s imperceptible behind the wheel during street driving but I don’t want adverse effects on the tires or at the next driver school. Anyone else ever experience damage like this after a curb-shot? How did you get it fixed? (or not fix it) I’m in the SF Bay Area and would appreciate any references for a high-quality straightening shop. You are going to have to get jiggy with it;-) Uh, I mean, you need to have a bodyshop with laser alighment jig machine "jig" your car into spec. Too bad you are not down in LA, I havea few clients who are bodyshops with laser jig machines... But ask for one that has it, and see for yourself, and your car should be ok. Good luck, Andy 98 M3 black/black

Date: Thu, 06 Jul 2000 06:17:10 PDT From: "Alex Aditya" <adityaax@hotmail.com> Subject: Oil grade (Engine) Hi guys, I have a question. I'm due for oil change soon, I'm thinking of using Mobil 1. Which grade should I use 10W30 or 15W50? I seem to remember (correct me if I'm wrong) from the owner's manual that I should use 15W40 for summer. Thanks a lot Alex ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
