In response to the fellow who said that the one touch wasn't an option until 96 or 97, I would just like to add that my 12/93 build 740 has one touch open and close, as well as closing the sunroof with the key and all that jazz. So I am beginning to believe that you can snag a sunroof motor out of any bimmer and retrofit it to 3er. I wonder. Oh well, still don't have working foglights... But I did get it washed! Brent

This is okay... >brakes would just about destroy me though, huh? Yes, since you said you were NEVER going to take your new, ALL STOCK (FOREVER!) M3 to the track, there is no need to replace the brakes with a Porsche kit, is there? It sounds like that new M3 didn't even remain all stock during the time it took your payment check to clear! ;-) Go ahead, Sean, have fun! -rb ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

If you have already responded positively, you should have recently received a separate notification from me (dated 7/13) and you need to do nothing else at this time. If you responded and did not receive the e-mail, please let me know ASAP so I can correct the list (my inbox got corrupted somewhere in the middle of this process). I plan to finalize the list on Friday 7/14. Thanks, Tom Tice "Thomas E. Tice" wrote: > It has been requested/suggested that we organize another group purchase > of seat covers. #6. front caliper seals - from RFKoby@aol.com
Top
Date: Thu, 13 Jul 2000 08:49:30 EDT From: RFKoby@aol.com Subject: front caliper seals track junkies, don't let you brake pads run too thin, this will cause the caliper seals / dust boots to pull out, then you have to rebuild the calipers. try this trick, save your old pads, and shave off the brake pad material just leaving the backing plates. when the brakes pads are half worn, retract the pistons and "shim" the pad in the caliper with the "extra" backing plate. You can shim on either, or both, side(s). By doing this, the caliper "thinks" there is a brand new thick pad in there, there by reducing the piston travel and chances of the dust boot pulling out. Another benefit, there will be LESS brake fluid on the caliper, and you will have a harder & higher pedal.... I only recommend this for track pads, because of the rattle..... happy braking bob

#8. HFM question - from Scott

Date: Thu, 13 Jul 2000 10:08:22 CDT From: "Scott" <whosez@hotmail.com> Subject: HFM question This probably seems like a dumb question, but I've been on this list for a quite awhile and have never seen a good description here or on the web of what a "HFM" is. I know the part antaken from the 5 series, and it has something to do with fuel intake (right?). I know it won't help my '98, but for general knowledge I'd love a short, simple description... Thanks in advance. Scott 98 M3/2, IL tags MEIN M 3 ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Anyone tried these?> Hey Mark, I have run Pagid Orange Pads on my Track 911 for the last 3 years and couldn't be happier. I have never experienced brake fade with them and I use them quite hard. They seem to be a popular pad with the Porsche crowd. I actually have used them for everyday use on the car and they work good on the street to but they do make a lot of noise at times. They dust less than my stock M3 pads as well. However, I have heard they are rough on rotors. So far mine have held up just fine. I think the general public would find them too noisy for street use but for the track they are great. I was actually surprised to find out that no M3's I know run these pads. Either they have just not caught on or PF-90's are soo good that no one wants to try them. Best Regards, Chad 99 M3 85 911
