Get this, when I had my window motor replaced under warranty, they unhooked my speakers in the door and didn't hook them back up. So it is well over an hour drive to the dealership, and I called twice to make an appointment to have this fixed, I was told that no appointment was necessary. So I take it in today when I happend to be close to the dealership, thinking ten minutes and I would be on my way. They had the nerve to tell me that I needed an appointment and that they couldn't even look at it. They were too busy. And to top it off, the fellow who told me that I didn't need an apointment was the same one who told me I did once I had made the trip to the dealership. So, anyone out there deal with such idiots? I think BMWUSA is getting a nasty letter from my attorney on this one. Good thing I have lots of them in my family. Go figure. Brent PS - ran into a guy selling a 635CSi for 6K. Said loan was 8K. Anyone interested? He is going to send me the vin so you can run it if interested. He had to buy it to get a bunch of toyotas. I don't understand it.

People install the larger "euro" HFM which means that they have a longer/larger wire heating up the air that breathes life into the engine?!?! =) It should be a CFM--Chilled Film Meter--and they should measure the difference in resistance by how much the incoming air warms the film!!! (long stroke). >how did they deal with piston speed at 8k rpm? Don't be silly. The E46M3 motor isn't substantially different from the current Euro M3 motor (86.11 mm bore / 90.93 mm stroke). The E36M3 has about the same measurements (86.4 mm bore / 91 mm stroke). I haven't driven a Euro M3 but the press on that car is pretty far from accusing it of having a truck motor. Nor do I hear people on this list complaining about having truck motors. Also, the Viper actually does have a truck motor but again, it's not something people complain about. I have read that piston, rod, and bearing alloys have improved quite a bit over the years and old rules of thumb about piston speeds no longer apply.

Roy, Go for the Conforti Air Intake system and Conforti chip. I have them along with the Euro HFM and have zero buyer's remorse. I also have the UUC swaybars (love them) and the UUC Strut Barbarian (I like it but would have probably been just as happy with the Motorsport brace except it would have cost a little more and though I would throw my money in the direction of UUC). There is a new Strut Barbarian on the way I believe but I do not know when. I also have the X brace (worth the money and very easy to install) and the UUC clutch stop. On the way is a Ron Stygar clutch with improved bushings. Nest is a couple of driving schools (Nelson Ledges and Mid-Ohio in the fall). Then maybe the UUC exhaust and SSR Integrals or GT 1's. Speaking of which, how do you like both of these items. Lastly, I am still debating a UUC short shifter and eventually a lighted Rob Knob. I recently swapped out my stock differential for a 3.46 from BMP. I really love it on the track, and if you don't plan on doing any prolonged high speed driving above say 95 mph it works fine. City driving is great, and a lot more fun because of the extra twist you get in third and forth. I also really like the Dinan exhaust, airflow, throttle body, HFM combo. It's actually pretty easy -- but you must have the appropriate wrench to remove the fan (a thin 32mm, I think) and deal with detensioning and retensioning the serpentine belt(s).
