"Top 100 reasons that proves your E36 M3 is a EURO SPEC..." 1. Give a little knock on the headlights. Euro should be glass, US is plastic. :) Next one?? :) Besides, the visual difference is obvious b/w the Euro and US engine. Michael Ting --------------------

The idea is that the rebound valves wear out much faster than the compression valves, and that you can adjust the rebound to compensate and match the compression as they age.

#6. 1st driving event - from Jonathan Evans

Date: Tue, 01 Aug 2000 12:13:21 GMT From: "Jonathan Evans" <jonathanevans@hotmail.com> Subject: 1st driving event Howdy howdy, Thought I'd emerge from read only status on the list for some advice about my first driving school. It is in Kershaw, SC at the Carolina Motorsport Park. It's a Sandlapper BMW CCA event. I've had my 95 m3 for about 3 months, 2 of which i was away on business and couldn't drive it. :( I'm planning on a few autocrosses to get the feel of the car (I'm used to miatas) but I've heard that's like flapping your arms to get ready to fly a jet. Not very similar. Helmet question: Where can I rent one for the weekend? I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one eventually, but just don't want to plunk down the cash before ever getting out there. I'm still not sure how my head will fit in the car. Should have spent more time looking for an m3 without a sunroof. Brake question: Supposedly this track is very tough on brakes. Anyone have some stock front rotors in decent shape they want to sell me? rotors and pads were changed about 3k miles ago, but it would be nice to have a spare set. Seatbelt question: I don't need a 5 point harness do I? Anyonw else going from the list? It looks to be in the middle of nowhere, wondering about available hotels. Thanks Jonathan Evans Red 95 M3 Raleigh, NC ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

#8. Next M3 vs V8 - from Holeman, David
Top
Date: Tue, 1 Aug 2000 08:58:08 -0500 From: "Holeman, David" <david.holeman@viaticus.com> Subject: Next M3 vs V8 BMW did create several test mules with the new M5 V8 engine in it. There has been some speculation that they may come out with a V8 version in the future. I think BMW is keeping its options open but we can write off BMW in the GT series. More than the car BMW does have a superior driving team and that makes a big difference too but most of the drivers will concede that they can't match the Porche on the more open tracks.
