Thanks for your time. >Paul T. Paul- I have the autosolutions "ultimate" kit. It replaces everythng including the whole shifter mounting bracket (like the Schnitzer kit, but way less money), and uses all custom fabricated components. In short, I love it. It feels like a using a rifle bolt; VERY precise, and an extremely short throw. A very high quality product, and highly recommended. Feel free to email me with more questions if you have any. When I told Phil at Auto Addictions this morning about the second deal to come along from Top Notch, he knocked the minimum down to three and was willing to reduce the price to $295. So much for vendors getting tee'd-off. A "top-notch" vendor will get even. Buy the way, I told Phil, if I can by on the list with this price, it wouldn't like good for Suzy! #6. RE: Need help with suspension problem - from Bob Stommel

Date: Wed, 02 Aug 2000 17:17:56 -0500 From: Bob Stommel <rstommel@iquest.net> Subject: RE: Need help with suspension problem LT: The top of the front shock should rotate inside the upper strut bearing, but the strut itself should not move side to side within the upper bearing. Remove the small plastic cap from the top of the strut tower, jack up the car, and grab the strut housing. Move it back and forth (in and out, but don't twist it) o check for movement inside the upper strut bearing. If it feels loose side to side, then the upper strut bearing is worn out and has to be replaced. It is a single unit that forms the top of the strut. The entire strut assembly must be removed and disassembled to replace it. Also check your front swaybar link ends. The upper link end (the one attached to the strut housing) especially likes to loosen on E36 M3s and this causes a characteristic rattle or clunk when braking or turning. If it is loose, remove the nut, coat the link end threads with Loctite Blue (medium strength) and re-torque the nut to 45 ft. lbs. The back side of the link end has two flats cut out for a 16mm wrench to hold the link end still while you torque the nut. Hope this helps. Date: Wed, 02 Aug 2000 15:31:54 -0700 From: Jim Powell <jsp98m3@home.com> Subject: A deal for all, without strings The rollbar is done. I'll pick the car up tomorrow and take more pictures. But additionally I wanted to report that ProParts has lowered the pricing on their monoball aluminum rear trailing arm bushings. These can be seen on ProParts' webpage: http://www.tcklineracing.com/OPC/TCKROPC.html The old pricing was $939 list and $705 for racers. This price has been lowered to $399 for everyone. I picked up several sets for friends and will document the install shortly. Jim
