#1. M3 moving - from Marc.S.Edwards@QuestDiagnostics.com

Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 11:43:55 -0700 From: Marc.S.Edwards@QuestDiagnostics.com Subject: M3 moving Junaidi Irwan asked: Can anyone recommend a mover for my M3? I am moving from Chicago, IL to Boston/Framingham, MA. I used Passport Transport to move an M3 LTW and regular M3 from Indianapolis, IN to Los Angeles. 2600 for the 2 cars (slight volume discount). Full enclosed transportation from a company that does nothing but move cars exotic or otherwise. I have no interest in them, just satisfied with the fact that my cars showed up on time and with no extra hood ornaments or body creases etc. Of course it is a lot further than the move you asked about. It would only take a full day for the actual drive I would guess. I would recommend agains using movers that routinely move furniture and household possessions. They don't have the expertise to move cars. At least that was what I was told. It might be different depending on the movers of course. Marc 1995 M3 LTW (with moving experience)

Hey what is it with all you Seattle dudes dropping out, hello >Brian, Brian.....??? it's because we're racing. i raced a bit last year, but am alot more this year. michael and brian just started the full time racing season thing this year. (both raced on and off before) so... guess what? we're all alot busier (and poorer) now. ;-) keeping up a race car is an almost full time job. this past weekend we all raced at SIR, and this week we have to turn around and get the cars ready for PIR in two days. i'm just more vocal then they are because i have a day job which lets me surf the web and answer e-mail. ;-) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

If it says you have 50 miles left and you drive the piss out of it all of a sudden, it'll drop to 5 miles really quick. BTW, Keep an eye on the little gauge on the left of the IC. Date: Wed, 09 Aug 2000 19:12:37 GMT From: "Drew Bamford" <drewbam@hotmail.com> Subject: RE: E36M3] Opinion Question Just another subjective data point in the exhaust debate: I've got the AA unit and believe that it has the ideal combination of quiet purr at small throttle openings and throaty growl at WOT. A bigger factor for me in deciding between UUC and AA was appearance. I really like the rolled tips on the AA, and have no use for the German rice-look offered by the DTM tips. Of note, however, is the fact that one of the rolled tips on my AA unit is beginning to crack--presumably because the weld was ground too thin. I suppose that I could ask AA to replace it, but removing it and shipping it to FLA is not my idea of weekend fun. Maybe after my product ships in September I'll have more time to crawl around under my car . . . #9. Coilovers vs. H&R/Koni ? - from Rob

Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 14:25:35 -0600 From: "Rob" <motor@cadvision.com> Subject: Coilovers vs. H&R/Koni ? I'm going to upgrade the suspension in my 1998 M3/2 and I'm looking for some advice. On my last M3 I had Bilstein Sports with H&R 29910's and it worked great and rode okay but I'm wondering if real coilovers offer a better compromise of ride and handling for a street car that see the track a dozen times a year. Other than price are there and downsides to threaded coilovers? TIA, Rob

I whole-heartedly agree, however I have noticed that the UUC exhaust produces a noticeable drone in the cabin at speeds over about 65. To me, it's worth it to hear the sound of the exhaust as I accelerate from a standing start. Depends on your preference. YMMV. -Huntley Parker '97 M3/2 Fighting a recurring urge to add more upgrades
