I'm not saying that it was done right, it could have been done totally wrong but.... Peak HP increase did not show any increase after 4 weeks of it being in the car, although mid range torque was fatter......so it's not really valid since I dont have a back to back test, and adaptation could have changed the results.... But when I first got the software, I can sure feel the difference..the improvements just seem to taper off after some time....(this happened both times I had the software downloaded to the DME) No flames...just another data point... --- Mdriver13@aol.com wrote: > Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2000 14:13:05 EDT > From: Mdriver13@aol.com > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Dyno runs of Shark Injected M3 > > In a message dated 8/12/00 1:08:28 AM Eastern > Daylight Time, > martono@newton.me.berkeley.edu writes: > > << But Dick > did tell me that he hasn't found any good chips for > OBD-II car and he is > not selling GIAC chips to OBD-II M3s. >> > > Talking to my BMW mechanic yesterday, as he was > installing a Dinan intake on > a e46 323ci, he said, there is very little gain in > hp, but increased low end > torque. Anyone care to give a little tutorial on which way your > wheels are > pointing and angle to the ground from toe and camber readings????? In addition <g>, I'd like to hear how the suspension changes while cornering and what is desirable or undesirable from an alignment. For example I'm pretty sure my rear semi-trailing arm suspension changes camber while cornering. The rear is toed-in so that helps keep everything in check. Toe out would make it real twitchy and difficult to handle. Not sure how you guy's Z link suspension changes. For the front, I want quicker turn in. So I'm adding camber plates and not sure whether I want toe at zero or a tiny bit of toe out. If the toe out doesn't kill my tires or make the car scary on the front straights then I'm all set. Otherwise zero toe it is (a compromise I hope). I'll soon find out, closed Gingerman event at the end of the month. Only 12 of us on track, whoo-hoo!! Or I could quit being lazy and buy a book. D'oh! Most of these "other" threads are personal notes back and forth between digest members that could take place off-line in RTP notes. I don't need to read "Hey John - I'll see you at the school this weekend in (fill in the blank)." Scott Hemauer

Do you need to mess with the Wurth clearcoat if you are only touching up some curb rash? Are both the spray and touch-up (small can, tube, etc.) available or just spray? I would like to touch up a few spots on some used SSR's I just bought and my 95 M3 stock wheels. Please advise and thanks in advance. Regards, Rich

Date: Mon, 14 Aug 2000 14:15:01 -0400 From: "Dorffer, Rich" <RDORFFER@CleIndians.com> Subject: RE: Potentially (FS) BMW ten double flat spokes List, I have some used (five in total) BMW ten double flat spokes (the style from the 95 M3) available. These wheels are 7.5" x 17" and weigh something like 21 lbs. The only history I know of them is they came from a certified 95 M3 which had 60,000 miles. One has a small bend in the outer wheel flange but nothing which could not be straightened (only a cosmetic problem as the tire was still mounted okay, the tire was not damaged and everything balanced properly with a reasonable amount of wheel weight). Overall, the wheels are in reasonably good cosmetic shape (no curb rash and only very difficult to see scratches/marks on the surface of the wheel face) and only minor evidence of use (tire weight removal mark, etc.). Cosmetically, I would say these wheels are about 95% and would make great track wheels or very good street wheels. What would either four (or five) wheels like this be worth in "as-is" condition? I am not certain as to how straight and true they are but they visibly appear to be okay. Digital pictures could be made available (if someone is seriously interested in them) and makes a reasonable offer for the set of four (or five) contingent upon some good digital pictures. Please reply privately. Otherwise, if no one is interested in them in "as-is" status, I may have them inspected (and straightened if necessary) by Wheel Collision Center and then sell afterwards. Best regards, Rich PS - The Wurth paint in the prior post is not necessary for these wheels but for another set I have.

Kolaitis" <chrisjnk@ix.netcom.com> Subject: E36 M3 Priceline gas card Hello All, I also buy Shell gas in the North Shore Chicago area using my Chase Bank Shell MasterCard. All the friggin Shell stations are 5% higher then the other gas stations. I don't seem to get any savings with the 5% rebate. Wednesdays only, is a nickel a gallon discount day at the local Shell stations. I know better, but I can't help myself. Will someone please come and whack me upside the head and take my Chase Bank Shell MasterCard. I just signed up for $1.40 a gallon at my usual station. It seems too good to be true. Whats the deal? This is 93 octane too. Just wondering. I figure it can't hurt anyway. If anyone else has tried it let me know how it went.>>> I have used the Priceline gas card a couple of times, but just noticed that they will start charging a $3 monthly fee after 90 days. I'm just gonna stick with my Chase Bank Shell Mastercard which gives me 5% off of Shell gas without any limits. After taking into account this 5% rebate, Priceline prices don't look so great. (and that's a high estimate, only assuming 20 miles per gallon, and $2 per gallon for gas) if i saved 5% that would be $100 a year. or for better perspective, about $2 a week. if you drive ALOT it might be $5 a week. if you didn't drive that much, maybe $1 a week. personally, i wouldn't inconvience myself AT ALL for $2 a week. (going to a specific station is inconviencing, especially if you're out of town. having to use a special gas card (instead of the one visa i use for everything) is inconviencing. if you're really into saving $100 a year, i'll bet there's easier ways to do it. work on your long distance rates maybe. there's much bigger "coupon saver" potential there. >From: "Christopher J.
