As to the motel, the Northgate Inn in Charles Town is closer, it's cheaper at $40 a night, and you drive by McDonald's on the way to the track in the morning! The Delaware chapter likes it and I've stayed there five times. It's consistently mediocre -- no surprises. FWIW. Dave Hogg Yellow car with Shark sound system

Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2000 22:45:27 EDT From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: spark plugs??? To all, I'm looking to change my spark plugs soon. I'm confused a bit. I have a 3.2 liter 1997 M3 and noticed that BMP list the Bosch Plus 4 plug as a fit at $5.99 each. Regular listed plug for this car cost $20.00 each. Am I missing something here. You don't get something for nothing...do NOT want to sacrifice performance in any way!!! What plug is best??? My inquiring mind wants to know. Really?? While I have never actually done this (I put them on at home also where the real floor jack and air tools are), the information I received with previous PF pads indicated that they were "race ready" i.e. slap them on and hit the track. My previous PF pads were, I believe, an 83 compound and not the 90s but I assumed it would be consistent across the PF line. Many other pads (particularly metal masters) certainly require that they be brought up to temp a few times to cure the adhesives or they will literally crumble at track temps. When I replaced my plugs, I simply pulled out one of the plugs and bought 6 identical new ones - Bosch FGR8KQC (looking at one now, there was a reason I saved one & tossed the rest!). The National Capital Chapter had several tech sessions in the past years, every one of them the mechanics said BMW's, especially M3's can be kinda picky about the plugs. Figured can't go wrong with what's already in there. These Bosch plugs were on the order of $15 or so per plug (not sure of the exact price, but not cheap in any case). No problems after I replaced my plugs, gas mileage improved back to where it should have been. Hope that helps, Andrej '97 M3

The brake light circuit message would just pop up once in a while. I'm not sure if the lights are actually working when the message came on. Georg, and Seeker: Are you using standard BMW lens housing, or the aftermarket "clear corners" ? I have a feeling that it might be the simple circuitry on the aftermarket housing that's causing the problem. (Mine anyway) This is kind of topic rant. The E36 Bentley Manual is the first manual that I've purchased. Somehow I find it still lacking information. And the electric circuitry section which takes 1/3 of the book's pages is not very useful to most people IMO. They should take it off and give more information instead.
