This is a good upgrade but for you old farts (Hi Joe!) don't throw the old glass away on the driver's side right away. #6. another mirror alternative....(was Euro mirror Group purchase) - from Ben Liaw
Top
Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2000 16:47:52 -0400 From: "Ben Liaw" <ben@shortshifter.com> Subject: another mirror alternative....(was Euro mirror Group purchase) another alternative to the euro mirrors are the multivex mirrors (sold by HMS). these mirrors were on bambislayer when i bought the car from duane collie, and still remain. the only trick to them is NOT to stare into them (they'll make you dizzy). they are FAR better than the euro replacement mirrors if you're worried about blind spots, but the downside is that they tape over your factory mirrors (whoops, there goes your nifty heated feature). a plus side is that they're only $80 for the pair. you can find them at http://www.hmsmotorsport.com if only this deal would have gone through a few weeks ago, i wouldn't have had to purchase a new, US spec passenger side mirror to replace the one on the Euro M3 GT which i'm in the process of federalizing. i coulda borrowed one from one of you folks on this group purchase. unfortunately, one of the caveats of DOT approval is having the "OBJECTS IN MIRROR..." writing on the mirror, as well as things such as US headlamps (the factory euro lamps with city lights are pretty cool) and a plethora of other stupid things. good thing the E36 M3 was pretty close to being built as a world car... that is, of course, except for the 295hp, hand-picked, individual throttle-bodied motor on the car. ben liaw 1995 M3 GT

And he's going to ship/handle them himself. Let's see - at 7 years of bad luck per mirror broken, and maybe 10 or 20 pairs of mirrors.... <g> Let me know when you get the price finalized so I can counter with a competing group purchase. Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2000 18:00:45 EDT From: SpeedU4EA@aol.com Subject: Re: exhuast install I installed the UUC exhuast all by myself :). The bolts are 13mm at the hanger and 12mm and 13mm at the cat. I jacked up the driver side instead of the rear (don't know why). I was flying along untill I got to the rear hangers on the new exhuast. No one told me there are two sets of bolts that you can bolt the hanger to, they only told me they needed to be flipped. I needed to use the inside for the UUC which I figured out by actually looking under the car. I had been reaching up with my eyes closed to unscrew and never saw the other bolts. I didn't want dirt in my eyes and the dealer works on cars with their eyes closed all the time so why not me? Then I played with it until it was centered. Very easy. Hangers are 13mm or 12mm. Can't remember which. On a side note. If you've ever upgraded your dog, I need help. I have taught mine to fetch my socket wrench. I am working on sockets but find they get all slobbery, plus i never get the right size. Any ideas welcome. Roy 98 M3 with close eyed hack mechanic and seeing eye dog
