My local dealer says that there is a 1 year waitlist at the minimum. Does anyone know how much it costs to get in line for one. Of course after the E46, I will be looking to get an E30 next ;-) Bora

#2. Headlight washers - from Carey Probst

Date: Sat, 09 Sep 2000 00:28:29 -0400 From: Carey Probst <hcprobst@alum.mit.edu> Subject: Headlight washers The Canadian versions of M3s and other 3 series have an optional headlight washer which BMWUSA apparently decided we don't need since there is no snow, road slop, dirt, etc. on US highways. Has anyone tried installing one on a US model? I don't think they are available in US, at least my dealer couldn't find, but Canada is only a short, fun drive away. Also, thanks to Chester for the GP of the Euro mirrors. They arrived while I was traveling and first order of business tomorrow is to install them and get rid of the hokey stick on convex mirror on the driver's side. -- Carey Probst '99M3 E-Mail: Carey.Probst@oracle.com Perm: hcprobst@alum.mit.edu A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

What's wrong with the $79, 2 1/4 ton Pep Boys item ? Yeah it weighs a lot, but so what? It works and has never let me down ( so to speak). You want a light weight, quick action jack? Buy a NASCAR jack. Now that would look really trick in your garage.

#8. Issues at the track - from Milotaks1@aol.com

Date: Sat, 9 Sep 2000 11:41:52 EDT From: Milotaks1@aol.com Subject: Issues at the track Yesterday I went up to the local dragstrip, Moroso, for a simple night of test and tune, which turned out into a nightmare. First pass I ran 14.2 which is pretty good for my car and on the second pass there were problems. I usually launch at about 3k, but this time I decide to do a "super" launch and I rode the gas up to 6-7k with out being off the clutch. OUCH! I notice this and immediately go into second gear at like 20 mph or so, but second gear only ingages half way almost like I had the clutch pedal in half way, so again I go to third with the same results, so I just coast through with a 18.5, and broke down into tears j/k. The car reeked of clutch for about an hour or so. It was bad. So what do you guys think about 20k of the life of my clutch? It ran just fine on the way home. Milo 95 M3 - B&B Exhaust, Chip, K&N pulled a 14.1 once

You've put the first box of nails in the coffin lid on that clutch. Bought a new flywheel lately? You may be doing it soon. You can't refinish this one. Did you know that? When the car is up in the air for the clutch, have them check the rear differential mounts too. You had a nice expensive party there. Why not take a top fuelie out for some suspension tuning in the twisties? It makes about as much sense. #11. Euro convex mirrors question - from Zorine, Dmitri Y, CSCIO
Top
Date: Sat, 9 Sep 2000 14:46:45 -0400 From: "Zorine, Dmitri Y, CSCIO" <dmitri@att.com> Subject: Euro convex mirrors question Question for those who got these mirrors in recent GP or before that. I installed mine two days ago and love it. However today I noticed that the mirror is really hot. For instance my passenger side (stock) mirror is just warm to the touch, but new driver side is really hot to the point where I can barely touch it. Is it normal or did I mess up something while installing it, or is mine defective? Could someone check theirs? Thanks Dmitri '99 Coupe
