Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2000 18:01:03 -0400 From: David Ngo <dngo@commvault.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] UPDATE on Racind Dynamic Splitter GP The issues raised by Peter are pertinent to almost any splitter addition that reduces ground clearance. 1. Fit - I can't address that one. 2. Problems parking - If you have to park front end in towards a curb or wall, you run the risk of scraping up the splitter by hitting the obstacle. You'll have to be careful to park farther away than normal from any object in front of the car. 3. Standing on the splitter - that's funny! It never occurred to me that someone might try to stand on a splitter. Not much footroom. 4. Damaging the bumper if the splitter hits something - I'm unfamiliar with the way the RD Sport splitter attaches to the bumper, but if it's very secure then it's possible that an object that hits the splitter (which might not have hit with the stock splitter) may cause the bumper to give way. The stock splitter will pull off first before any major bumper damage occurs - I found this out the hard way. Nothing against RD Sport splitters or this GP, just thought I'd clarify Peter's post. I just bought this car with a buddy and it's a PITA to get around in. I am sure it will get better as I adjust but switching between a stock M3 and this thing is tough and failure would be very expensive as this is a real BMW Motorsports splitter. I have pulled up to several curbs, gotten out and checked, and haven't found one it will clear yet. Scuffed a little getting out of diner in NY after spending a few minutes in and out of the car figuring out how to do it. Next time I will try backing out. :) http://www.forgeline.com/bmwcca.htm Dave Spragg dave@spragg.com Natick, MA 99 M3 Sharked 92 330is supercharged, sharked, group-n'd, etc... -----Original Message----- From: Jim Powell [mailto:jsp98m3@home.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 12, 2000 5:59 PM To: E36M3 Subject: Re: [E36M3] UPDATE on Racind Dynamic Splitter GP Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2000 14:51:49 -0700 From: Jim Powell <jsp98m3@home.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] UPDATE on Racind Dynamic Splitter GP Its the age of non-responsibility. I know this has been posted before but I never made a note of it. Who is it that I'm supposed to contact at Nick Alexander for the Euro Floating Rotors at $108 each? Also, if you happen to have the ph# handy, that'd be great. Are there any better wrenches out there for this application?>>> My thoughts exactly. I went down to my local tire/wheel place, http://www.wheel1.com and ordered a real BBS wrench. Apparently there is a new wrench which goes all the way around the center cap and has a handle on it. BBS P/N 59.23.009 I paid $15. #10. Mounting Screws for 96+ BMW CD Changer - from Geof McLaughlin

I bought the CD install kit, but lo and behold, it did not include the tiny screws used to secure the CD changer to the bracket. I went to my local BMW dealer and found out that these screws are supplied with the CD changer only. Doh! Anyway, does anyone know the size and preferable a source for these screws? TIA. -Geof
