Don't worry the enjoyment you get from your new shifter, clutch pedal, clutch stop and Eibach will make up for the loss. What are your current AC settings set at? (ex: auto mode, face vent, driver and pass. desired temp settings, recirc?) 3. Exterior and Interior color of your M3? 4. You said after 10mins after pressing the AC button it starts blowing cold air, is that while city driving or highway driving? 5. Does your M3 have a front bra installed? 6. Has there been any repairs done to the AC system? Jon Caldito

#5. turbo manufacturer's for the E36M3 - from Jason Sarich

Date: Sun, 17 Sep 2000 20:41:06 -0700 From: "Jason Sarich" <sarich_m3@prontomail.com> Subject: turbo manufacturer's for the E36M3 I was looking into the possibility of adding a turbo Kit to my '99 M3, and don't know of the manufacturers/websites that detail information about price and availabitly. Could someone please let me know if the top turbo kits in production and point me in the direction of information about them. I found the AA turbo page, and noticed the price of $15+K for the system. And I knew that Suzy had a Mechturbo? kit. Is this price standard for a turbo? I thought that they ran roughly $5-7K. I also heard a rumor about JimC creating a turbo/supercharger kit, but I don't put much stock into that especially since he just sold his E36. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Just kidding! I was just reminded of something that was repeatedly stated in the cycling magazines I used to read where people would spend loads of money on titanium spokes, carbon fiber spokes, titanium seat post, titanium spindle, etc, etc...and the best advice was to upgrade (more like downgrade) the cyclist. Of course, I guess it was all relative. Afterall, a (road)bike only weighs ~18 pounds. Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 00:31:52 -0400 From: Ted Telesky <TTelesky@compuserve.com> Subject: Re: EBC brake pad noise Ron, Thanks for the info. I did not put the brakes in myself, I had a mechanic do it, but at the time I did ask if he but grease on the rear of the pads and he said they used a Mercedes brake grease for that. Of course, I don't know how much he put on. I have subsequently talked to EBC about the problem, and they will exchange the pads for another set of greenstuff (or red stuff if I pay the difference.) When I asked why I would put on another set of greenstuff since they squeal so badly, he said that I may have a set with "bad" compound. He did not say the new set would not be "bad" compound either, so I would pay another $100 to my mechanic to swap they out. He also said the redstuff was not any quieter and again, no guarantees that I would not get bad compound ones and would need to try another set of they squeal. Sometimes I think the BMW factory guys seem to know best... Anyway, thanks for the advice. If I try the green or red stuff gain, I will ask my mechanic to really lube them up! Ted Message text written by "Ron Buchalski" > Ted, I purchased brakes pads and rotors from BavAuto (for my E34 525iT) and also bought some brake anti-squeal compound that they sell. It comes in a small plastic bottle, and has a brush attached to the cap. It has a thicker consistency than peanut butter. I put a thick (1/16") layer of this stuff on the backing plates of both pads, let it sit for awhile (15 minutes) and then installed the pads. So far, no squeal on either the M3 (with factory pads) or the 525iT (with PBR Deluxe pads) when using this stuff. -rb <

Afterall, a (road)bike only weighs >~18 >pounds. that's why i race in a class where the minumum weight is taken WITH driver in the car. that means i can be the same weight as everyone else. (i guess i lose a little ability to place the weight exactly where i want it however, but that's minor) if i competed in a class where the car was weighed WITHOUT driver, i'd be in trouble. this is also my standing reason for not setting any track records in go-karts. funny story... whenever i lose a kart race to a 130 lb teenager by a couple feet, i always challenge then to a race where they carry 100 pounds of weight in the kart. guess how many times i've been taken up on the challenge? ;-) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. #10. Delrin Bushings Installed (from UUC), questions - from Brent91NSX@aol.com
Top
Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 01:34:57 EDT From: Brent91NSX@aol.com Subject: Delrin Bushings Installed (from UUC), questions I installed the Delrin bushings tonight. Good news, it was satisfying to get them in. Bad news, I didn't notice a difference. I'm thinking there are other bushings that need to be replaced, like the one on the opposite end of the delrin bushings, then pointed end of the shift linkage. Are there any other bushings that could cause this play in the shifter? I figure I spend that much time I might as well notice a difference (even if it does mean spending a couple more hours). Now its more of a mission than something I even care about. = ) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Brent Parks 95 M3 - Mission Impossible
