#1. another plug question - from drwillb

Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 16:46:02 -0400 From: "drwillb" <drwillb@idt.net> Subject: another plug question While surfing the net I came across a good deal at Turner Motorsports: drop-in ITG filter for stock airbox setup $35. It's about tune-up time so I asked for plugs as well. What I got is Bosch F7LDCR. If it weren't for the current thread on plugs I would just assume these were correct but now I have doubts. Question: Is this the right plug for a 95 3.0 M3? Thanks, Bill Molina: unplugged

#3. Tire Bleeder Valves - from Robert Biggs

If you use them, are they consistently reliable on all four tires and is there any particular make of bleeder valve that you could recommend. I'm not much interested in filling up my tires and air tank with nitrogen. Bob Biggs 96 M3/2

#4. Hood clearance problem w/JC intake - from Joe Huie
Top
Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 23:08:10 -0700 From: "Joe Huie" <jhuie@inreach.com> Subject: Hood clearance problem w/JC intake I just finished installing the JC intake kit (non Euro). The problem I have is that the hood doesn't close evenly, i.e., the driver's side sticks up a bit. I think the cause is the cruise control module but I'm not sure. I pushed the module as far down as it can go. The hood foam shows the impression of the module. I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem, and whether you had to cut the foam out around the cruise control. Or, is it the heat sheild that's causing the problem? I ended up pushing the control module down and toward the outside, and then quickly closing the hood. It's better but not perfect. Any suggestions? Just live with it? (I'll contact Josh at Eurosport on Monday but maybe someone out there has an answer.) Thanks. Joe 95 M3

#6. RE: Ice9-wounded - from Monty Baugh

Date: Sun, 24 Sep 2000 23:30:23 -0500 From: Monty Baugh <mbaugh@telecom-management.com> Subject: RE: Ice9-wounded Wow, that's a bummer. Looks like you had a lean-out, or at least a localized superheating. If you take the exhaust loose at the catalytic converter, I think you will find the other remnants of a disintegrated piston, valve, spark plug, etc. Holes in the cylinder wall were probably caused by the loose rod. Bent/broken valves were most likely just victims of the debris from the disintegrated piston. That slug of metal was just a piece/part that managed to weld itself onto the cylinder wall during the chaos. At a minimum, it would take a block, one piston and piston rod, four valves and a cylinder head to put that engine back together. What do M52 long blocks go for? MBaugh

#7. Clunk in front end - from Michael Turgeon

Those who were there will remember by car by the large cloud of white smoke it bleched out so inappropriately. During my last session I noticed a clunk in the front end. I believe that this only happened in right turns. Any opinions on what this could be?? I was thinking wheel bearing, or sway bar link? Any ideas?? 95 M3 with 54k miles mostly stock, running on AVS Sports TIA, Mike Turgeon BMW CCA #166866 95 M3 Avus __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? #9. It finally happened - from Paul Agustin

Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 08:49:47 -0500 From: Paul Agustin <agustin@iaxs.net> Subject: It finally happened Well last night LEO finally tagged me doing 85 in a 65. I should have been paying more attention to odd shapes in the median, but I was following my girlfriend. I also got a ticket for too dark window tinting, and a warning for no front license plate. The question I do have is that they have her on radar but they admitted to me that they did not have me on radar, so is this a ticket I could fight and win? I guess it's no big deal, you speed and you are rolling the dice if you are going to get caught, if you do you gotta pay the piper. #10. Disability insurance that covers drivers schools and/or racing events? - from Dave Spragg

Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 09:53:36 -0400 From: "Dave Spragg" <dspragg@mediaone.net> Subject: Disability insurance that covers drivers schools and/or racing events? Hi All, I had disability insurance but let it lapse as it wouldn't cover "motorized racing events" and won't even clear if it would cover me period even if something happened that was not related to that. I race go-karts, autocross cars, do driving schools, do open track, do time trials on track, and will get my racing license with the BMW CCA next month if all goes well. On top of all this I work at home 99% of the time and many insurers will not cover me very well or at all do to this. Any here have coverage the includes racing and such? Email me privately or on the list if you feel other's might benefit from this info. I want to race my track toy even if I can only afford very modest coverage when doing so. Beyond that I would like to know that disability insurance I buy will cover everything else even if I do race.
