In Europe, The A3(MK3) Jetta was called Vento and the A4(MK4) Jetta is called Bora, as Paul England stated. The rumored Jetta with the V8 probably won't happen, due to the fitment. It will, however, receive a twin turbo V6 in its place. With approximate horsepower over 370HP. It will also have 18" wheels and a six-speed transmission. Can we maybe get back to our usual discussions of tweaking our engines to ~ 300+ hp, tires/brakes/suspension upgrades? Mike '95 M3 da kar is yellow, and I'm still smiling thinking about some hot laps and big fun at Buttonwillow HPDS with the Sandy Eggo BMWCCA folks!

When I spoke of my frustrations with what seemed like my car's loss of power, I never thought I'd turn the M3 digest into a Viper and VW discussion forum. I apologize to the list and to Suzy. Rob PS. As a follow-up to my poor top end performance, it seems that my clutch may be partially to blame. When accellerating in gears 3-5, the car feels like it is surging at every 200-300 rpm increment. What I think may be happening is that when I am at WOT, the clutch grabs and then slips 200 rpm later. It then grabs again, and repeats the cycle. That would explain the "surging," would it not?

Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2000 15:24:49 -0400 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: Little M3 Content - USGP Pictures I made an album from the pictures that I took at the USGP last weekend. They are accidentally in reverse order from the but consist of a few pictures of the race (including some good ones right at the start), the 360 Challenge qualifying, nice shots from the parade of old F1 cars, Saturday's Porsche SuperCup race and the F1 qualifying. http://picturecenter.kodak.com/share?invite=5qWVErV74LeIJyn2UDsat8bYhcVaUrD8 Sitting on the front straight, I had LOTS of other pictures of just the track because the cars went by at 200+ MPH and I just plain missed them. M3 Content: I saw a few M3's there but didn't see the BMW display with the E46M3. Where was it? -Wayne

In essence, not as smooth of power delivery, as I recall. Anyone else notice something like this. I know it's not my butt that has gotten more sensitive over the years but who knows? I'd appreciate any insights into this matter. Thanks in advance. Tony S. Suh '97M3/2
