To protect someone from encountering discomfort by touching a 25watt heated mirror, the heating element has been reduced. After all, all of us Bubbas in 'merica drive with one hand on the driver's side mirror, right? ;-) -rb _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. They actually had the best and biggest manufacturers display. They had an M5, M3, and a Z8, plus a lot of BMW goodies. #4. E46 M3 @ USGP - from SeaUinOC@aol.com
Top
Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2000 19:36:33 EDT From: SeaUinOC@aol.com Subject: E46 M3 @ USGP Wayne, The E46 M3 was at the BMW.WilliamsF1 tent in the Merchandising Display Area. It was accompanied by two M5's and a Z8. Oh, Ralf and Jenson stopped by to sign autographs! It was like the scene at a High School when the Back Street Boys come to visit! PURE CHAOS! And the color, Laguna Seca Blue, to die for! There is nothing in production today that compares to it! Now, if it will beat a Corvette Z06 around the track, that remains to be seen. Any ideas? Dean

Doesn't seem like it. Z06 is much lighter than the new M3. 0-60 is supposed to be 4 secs. Looking at how easily can a C5 kill an E36 M3, It'll take something like E46 M3 LTW to match a Z06. Too bad ... Looks like the newer M IS a marketing device. Michael Ting --------------------

I saw them in Italy last month when I was there for vacation...I still would buy a 323 for that price... Leo 95///M3

If they're available in 8.5" now I'd like to hear about it. << Like you, I bought mine at Tire rack also, mounted with Pirelli Winter 210s last year. They were 7.5". If youre still using them for winter use, though, I'd keep the 7.5" ones. I feel that, for me, going to 8.5" would support a wider tire, but, for winter use, I feel that 7.5" mounted with 225 tires is just about right...Just balance your desire for a wider wheel/tire with the practicality of winter driving. _____________________________ Paul Elliott '99 Alpine White M3; <20000 mi; Forged M dbl-spokes; Rotex pads; Dinan Stage II Supercharger; Stygar Short Shift Kit and clutch stop; Skaags pedals

Yes, the E46M3 was there. I saw it on Saturday. It was located just to the south of the Williams Tent on the southeast side of the infield. The car was an unusual color of blue, almost a turquoise. There were also a couple of very dark blue M5's. Kevin D. McLeaster WB9HMI '95 M3, Arctic Silver

Where was it? You had to go to the infield to see it. If you were towards the end of the front straight you had to walk to the right and walk through the tunnel under the track. It was that puky blue color (Laguna Seca blue?), yuck. The cool stuff was the display of historic cars (which you have pictured lapping, nice pics!), I was there when they started Niki Lauda's car, doesn't get any better then that. :-) OK maybe seeing Nelson Piquet's BMW M Powered beast would've topped it but it wasn't there, neither were one of those 6 wheeled Tyrells, oh well maybe next year. M3Content: There were a few E36 M3's parked at the BMW corral but I didn't get to meet any of you. Carlos Motor City Chapter __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! #10. Staying on topic - from Sue Kraft
Top
Date: Fri, 29 Sep 2000 06:03:34 -0500 From: Sue Kraft <suekraft@mindspring.com> Subject: Staying on topic I am really getting tired of asking people to stay on topic. Perhaps it is time to start thinning out the herd, so to speak. This is a private mailing list, which means nobody has the right to be here, you are all invited guests. I hate to be so blunt, but those of you who repeatedly break the rule of staying on topic are ruining this list, and are no longer going to be tolerated. Any suggestions as to who should be removed would be very much appreciated. Suzy
