For example: Best Engine Mod Best Non-Engine Mod Best Mod Under $250 It is a tough call. I've done several modifications to my M3 that I really enjoy. I have a '95 with OBD-I so I get more benefit out of the engine mods. If I had to choose, I vote for my JimC computer chip. It is cheap (only $250) for a '95. I notice it each and every time I drive my M3. I would buy it even if it didn't increase power. JimC's software eliminates the stock chip's fuel cut off jerkiness when coasting and the engine runs smoother. Plus mid range torque is noticeably improved. My second vote would go to the UUC short shifter. I just love it. I know it doesn't make the car go faster but it is so much more fun to drive. Again, I enjoy it each time I drive. It is also fairly inexpensive. I got mine when Ben Liaw was bending your own M Roadster shifter for $35. Third would be the BMW X-brace. I think it dramatically tightens up the front end. Turn in is much quicker after I put the X-brace on. And fairly inexpensive, about $135 after BMW CCA discount. There's my top three. Lowell Seaton '95 M3/2 Dallas, Texas BMW CCA #131505

Other than that, I'd go with either a good set of skins or one of the many BMWCCA driving events. Worth every penny and they really teach you how to get the most performance from your baby. (sort of) for a 95 ESPECIALLY, i vote for chip/HFM/intake. (that's one upgrade right?) the larger HFM is a big deal on the OBD I cars. ----------------- I agree, the JC Chip, Intake and EURO HFM system for $1,100 gets my vote. Performance improvement, fit and finish, bang-for-the-buck, stock appearance, etc. are all reasons I would vote for this. Regards, Rich

For the bronze 17X8.5 M-Contours with Yoko A032R's all around. Runner up would be JTD Front Strut Brace. And the winner is Eibach sway bars. For the reference : '99 M3 Coupe X-Brace BL/SS JTD STB JTD RSM Eibach sway bars Swapped strut hats 17X8.5 with A032R's for summer 17X7.5 with Michelin Alpins for winter Bunch of cosmetic/convenience goodies. If someone would like to keep a tally of votes, I'll post the winner on bmwmpower. I had a tough time deciding between my ACS short shifter or Jim C intake, but I think I'd have to go with the Jim C intake. So what do the rest of you think? Suzy Ditto. Cold Air Intake. Anyone have any experience with the x-brace? Where is a good place to buy and approximate pricing? TIA. A major upgrade in change, cost and install time, but worth every penny IMHO. Of course, the most *effective* upgrade I've done to my car is attending about 10 drivers schools with it. I found out that the stock version is incredible.
