I have posted a question in the e36 board concerning m3 bushings. Do you know for sure if I can use them? Is there anybody you know that could answer this question or that has advice concerning bushing replacement? Yes, I do fade my brakes and warp my rotors, I am a REAL MAN. ;-) >>>>i'd at least recommend you try r4 pads instead of pf-90s. they're 99% as good as pf-90s at stopping, 95% as good at stopping warping, but they have HUGE, THICK built in clips, (which don't break or fall off) and they squeal less, and they dust less, and they work better cold, and they are generally 100% eaier to live with. (comapred to pf-90s)<<<< I DO hate any kind of rattling on squeaking on my car, hence my inquiry about the clips. Hmmm . . . anyone else out there like the R4 pads? Maybe that is the way to go . . . Things that make you go hmmm. > Actually, isn't that the same exact weight distribution as the E36 M3 (according to my memory--and my brochure sitting at home). As far as I remember (correct me if I'm wrong) the only BMW available with an exact 50/50 weight distribution is the M Coupe. >That's the scoop > If you don't mind filtering through all the nonsense posts, there's also a good deal of info on the E46M3 page at bimmer.org. There's even scans of all the pages from the ordering brochures for those looking for some reading material today. I find that odd. I installed the Comp Evo with ERK and did some grinding on the lip. Engaging reverse is TERRIBLE. Sometimes, I can't get it out of reverse! I'm going to check if perhaps there is more lip that can be removed. It sucks to spend that kind of money for a product, and then have to take a dremel to it to make it work! A.J. 95/M3

Date: Wed, 04 Oct 2000 15:03:13 GMT From: "Ron Buchalski" <rbuchals@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: Mobil 1 I also live in MD. I was putting BMW HP Synthetic oil in my M3 (5W40), since it's an approved oil, and it was about $1 less per quart than Mobil 1 (Tischer BMW in Silver Spring, MD gives a 20% discount to BMWCCA members). However, BMW recently replaced the 5W40 synthetic oil with 5W30 synth, and I've been hesitant to use it in my M3, but I am using it in my E34 525iT. My M3 currently has 15W50 Mobil 1 (I attended track events in June and August). I'd prefer to use a 5W40 or 10W40 oil, but Mobil 1 doesn't come in that weight (they have a 10W30 oil). I think that a 10W40 oil would be a good year-round lubricant, but I'd like to get confirmation from BMW. Amsoil makes a 10W40, and there are people who sell it at a discount, so that might be another choice for you. BTW, I was talking to a Mobil 1 rep at the F1 race two weeks ago, and he claims that Amsoil (and several other unnamed oil companies) buy their base stock from Mobil, and put their own additive packages in. -rb >Date: Wed, 4 Oct 2000 02:02:25 EDT From: SeaUinOC@aol.com Subject: Mobil 1 > >Hi Everyone! I get a huge kick out of driving through the paddock with my car rattling and squeaking, and getting funny looks from all the P-car drivers... then passing them once on the track. Wouldn't trade that fun for the peace and quiet :) - Rich
