The bad news is, they are now scheduled to hit port on October 29th.! I still have everybody listed who contacted me back when this all started (if you can remember back that far), I will contact you all individually when I know these bars are on the way to me to see if you still want them. Again, I can only apologize on behalf of Eibach USA for the delay in getting these here and to you all. Thanks, Rob -- Top Notch Auto Accessories, Inc. 2865 N. Let me know. > >Thanks, > >Frank I just got a coupon from Gebhardt (Boulder, CO). $60 for all 4 wheels. Now for my dilemma: The coupon expires 10/27. I've done a few track events this year, and will probably continue to do so. I have a '95 with stock suspension, and don't like how the outside corners of my tires are all rounded off. So, I'd like to increase my negative camber by about 1 degree, which sounds like a good compromise for a daily driver that sees 500 - 1000 track miles per year. I'm considering either the crash bolt/shim solution, or getting 96+ strut bearings and mounting them on the "wrong" sides. The problem with the latter, is I don't know if I can get it together before the coupon expires. Sod it. Maybe I'll just get it aligned and worry about it in the spring...

IE: the xbrace reinforces the area in front of the footwell making it more likely to have xbrace and assorted things end up in the footwell area... I could be wrong. #8. M roadster shift lever - from Lew Becker
Top
Date: Wed, 4 Oct 2000 22:25:58 -0700 From: "Lew Becker" <lmbeckercfls@earthlink.net> Subject: M roadster shift lever Way back when, before the UUC and UUC SS there was the BL/SS -- factory M roadster lever w/factory washers, etc. -- cost all of $52 as I recall, and has worked problem free. The straight lever does slightly relocate the shift knob (a bit lower, forward, and to the left -- I prefer it lower, and the offset position works better for me than stock with my seat position and reach). NO problems whatsoever engaging reverse, 5th, or any other gear. Perhaps a bit "notchier", but Redline D4 ATF significantly minimized that issue. At or about the time the ERK was in development, Ben posted speculation about potential seal issues arising from a shaft misalignment inherent in this setup. Over 30,000+ miles later, I haven't had a problem (but, if I was concerned, I'd look into Ron Stygar's kit with a shaft that restores the factory alignment -- but I'd keep the straight lever, even though Ron will provide a bent lever to put the shift knob back where the factory did). Anyway, he said that BMW is coming out with a fix (within a couple months)...I guess a new PLATINUM sensor that seems to be working. Date: Thu, 5 Oct 2000 08:22:55 -0400 From: Robert Jackowitz <RJackowitz@HARVPART.COM> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Life of MetalMasters? Many people recommend these as street pads. Although I don't use them on my M3, I do use them on my Alfa and have been quite happy with them. However, they are not track pads and can not withstand the heat generated by track braking. Much like street tires, they'll work fine on the track but they'll get used up really fast. Rob '97 -----Original Message----- From: Matt Henson [SMTP:hensonator@yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 04, 2000 9:47 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Life of MetalMasters? Date: Wed, 4 Oct 2000 17:56:41 -0700 (PDT) From: Matt Henson <hensonator@yahoo.com> Subject: Life of MetalMasters? I realize that MetalMaster's aren't a favored pad around these parts but I've found them to be very grippy and fade resistant. My DE instructors even commented that they loved the way they felt compared to their stock pads.. So anyway, I put on a new set about 5-6k ago. 1 DE, a couple autoX's and a lot of fairly aggressive street driving. A week or so ago they started squealing all the time. Now the pad wear light is on. What gives? Do these things usually last 6 months? I haven't had a chance to check wear but the front calipers look fairly close to the rotors - and their equal. So that would seem to indicate that one side isn't binding, causing excessive wear. Any other experiences with these rotors and excessive wear (Sean's crumbling pads notwithstanding :-) ) -Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! I'm not sure whether pricing there is competitive, but they were always very responsible, and will usually give a discount if asked. They can arrange loaner cars with enough lead time. Jonathon: As John (with Ice9) said the Dinan stuff is a great compromise for street with some tackability. I bought my M3 with all the Dinan goodies already installed, which includes the stage three suspension. I've only driven a couple of stock M3s and my modded M3, so I can't give you a definitive response concerning specific components, but I know the ride on mine is great for around town. She still handles like a razor in a groove when pushed hard too. I would suggest going to your local CCA meeting and seeing if people will let you drive their cars with various suspension mods and then make your decision. If you're anywhere near Minneapolis St. Paul Minnesota in the next week or two you can take mine for a spin. Side note I also changed the suspension on my Jeep Grand Cherokee with Eibachs and Bilstiens, one heck of a difference. Good luck!
