It is most likely to be some residual oil that found it's way down from the oil filler aperture. I use more care when I pour oil in now. >>>>>>>>> Date: Mon, 9 Oct 2000 14:43:05 EDT From: Brent91NSX@aol.com Subject: Oil on spark plug when changing them I go to change the spark plugs and on the 4th one (4th away from the front of the car) there is oil on the spark plug when I take it out. Both on the outside and the side that is screwed in. This I know sounds very bad and I don't know what to do. I mean, the car runs great just I am very very concerned. Should I just put the new spark plug in? What should I do and what does this mean? Thanks, Brent Parks 95 M3 "scared of the stealer"

#4. Rear Strut Mounts - from PDumond21@aol.com

Date: Mon, 9 Oct 2000 19:34:33 EDT From: PDumond21@aol.com Subject: Rear Strut Mounts I am hearing some rattling coming from my rear suspension. I am sure it is coming from my rear strut mounts since I have about 50k miles on my car. I will be replacing them soon. My question is: what strut mounts should I buy? Which ones are the best how much do they run? What is the procedure for the install and can an average mechanic do the install? I have a '97 M3. Thanks in advance. Paul

The dealer still doesn't have pricing, so I wasn't sure about some of the options. Got one of the first brochures also. #8. Koni vs. Bilstein - from Bob Stommel

Date: Mon, 09 Oct 2000 18:54:32 -0500 From: Bob Stommel <rstommel@iquest.net> Subject: Koni vs. Bilstein I've used both the Koni adjustables and the Bilstein Sports on three different E36 M3s. The Bilsteins are much stiffer in compression than the Konis. The Konis are adjustable for rebound but not for compression. For both the street and the track, I prefer the Konis. It takes some time and experimentation to get the Konis adjusted properly to match your car and the rest of your suspension parts, but it's well worth it. Once you get them adjusted properly, you shouldn't ever have to readjust them except to compensate for wear. P.S. we're not talking about bends you can see. just like "warped" rotors aren't warped enough that you can see. it's just little minor bends that cause balancing problems. i'll lay money that if you've hit a pothole in your life you have a bend in a wheel. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Why would these run smaller? tire sizes quoted by manufacturers are about as accurate as fish sizes quoted by weekend fisherman. if you want to know the "real" measurements, you can ask for them (most of the time). but the big numbers stamped on the sides are not accurate enough to make fitment (rubbing) judgements. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
