The JimC intake is my vote for the best mod. Fit and finish are excellent with a little work. You never get sick of the roar at 5500 RPM. 7% measured increase in air flow on my M coupe. Does anyone have any thoughts on how a 1995 911 (993 style) might compare to my supercharged M3? Turner web page states that it bypasses but does not disable EWS. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Any feedback that you have on this matter is appreciated. Thanks Bora

It gives the same performance gains as the Jim C. chip, but its only $179. Sounds almost too good to be true. I think it is incorrect to say JimC "bypasses" the EWS. Instead, he just leaves it alone. It is unchanged by the chip. The EWS function is completely the same after installing the JimC chip. It gives the same performance gains as the > Jim C. chip, but its only $179. Sounds almost too good to be true. It is too good to be true <g> If you are talking about "chips" or something around $200, then you must have a '95 M3? In that case, then the JimC chip is only $249. Believe me, it is not worth saving $70. Get the JimC chip. Remember, if you have a '96+ model, then you have to have the DME reprogrammed. This will cost around $400. I've not seen anybody advertise for less. You cannot use the chip upgrade. Speaking of performance gains, it can be misleading. Be careful. Those advertised "performance gains" are at ONE specific engine speed. It is more important to know what the performance gain is for ALL engine speeds. For example, what would you rather have. A chip the gives you 20+ hp at 6,500 rpm but 0 increase from 700-6,499 rpm or a chip that gives you 19.9+ hp everywhere from 700-6,500 rpm? If you just bought the advertised claim, you would say the first chip is better because it gives you 20+ hp vs. 19.9+ hp. I have dyno'ed my '95 M3 with Stock, Dinan, and JimC chips. The Dinan chip actually made the same peak hp as the JimC chip. However, the JimC chip made more hp and torque at every other engine speed. You will be much happier with the JimC chip. Save another $70 and buy a JimC chip. Lowell Seaton '95 M3/2 Dallas, Texas
