Are they true synthetic oil or are they blend? I am trying to get some Mobil 1 synthetic oil but seems like there are shortage everywhere here in the Bay Area. Thanks, dc 01/330/4

In the last program I saw, it covered the latest M3 briefly in terms of its production quality control. Watch it, guys! It's featured a number of BMW cars as well as some really exotic sports cars in the world. The video is very very high quality compared to some of the domestic ones. I have a feeling that the new M3 will be featured in there pretty soon... Go to TV Guide, and use the search keyword, "motor magazine". Oh, it's in English (with an British accent). Have fun! __ __ David Tow / / / / | / | ______ 95 M3 coupe / / / / |/ | o/______\o Red/gray / / / / | (OO=00=OO) david_tow@hotmail.com / / / /__/|__/|__| []*=XX=*[] _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. It used to be 5w30 (Valvoline), but it's now 5w40 (Castrol). Jonathan L. >From: Davy Chou > >Hi, > >Does anyone on the digest have any experience with the synthetic oil sold >at local BMW dealer? I use the 5W-30 and have had no problems. I did notice, however, some of the characteristic valve tick after a few autocross runs that I didn't seem to have when the BMW oil was 5W-40 weight. Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2000 14:24:50 -0700 (PDT) From: Ed Tang <etangf1@yahoo.com> Subject: Road to Hana The road to Hana is quite a journey. You are rewarded with a grandeur scenery--the waterfalls are something else. However, it is pretty tedious. I believe there are over 600 turns and it's pretty much a one laner. The elevation changes alone will give you a headache. Can you imagine 24 heures de Hana? All I know was that I was craving the ///M to carve that road with. I wasn't as unlucky as Chester to have a Cavelier. Not that an Altima is any better, but it is difinitely a step up. BTW, Chester, if you are in Honolulu, show them your CCA card and get a discount on ///M shirts and hats. The tax is also cheaper there. I think there's a dealership on Kinau Street, not too far from Waikiki. I guess if you don't mind packing parts in your luggage, you can capitalize on the lower tax rate. All other dash backlights work and all the fuses look ok. Any ideas? Thanks Sergio

Compared to the E36 M3, I'd guess the E46 will feel like it is supercharged (linear power delivery, moderate bump in torque, higher torque peak, lots more top-end power)? Add a supercharger to the (as new) price of an E36M3 and the price gap with the E46 narrows. Just trying to rationalize the higher price! I don't like the E46's 'pull-up' window switches either. But, at least they're still on the center console and not on the door! - Jay >-------------------- 10 -------------------- >Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2000 14:50:39 -0500 >From: Sue Kraft <SKRAFT1@new.rr.com> >Subject: Re: [E36M3] Re: E46 M3 -- first review! > >With almost 100 more HP and 26 ft lbs of torque over the e36 (and a 0-60 >of 4.8 >seconds) who's gonna worry about window switches? :-) > >Suzy
