Or should I just go with OEM ? For that much track use, I would recommend going with either the JTD or Ground Control mounts. I've got the JTD ones (with "street" bushings), and my car sees about 14-15 track events per year. They've been in since early this year, and I don't expect to have to change them again. When my car is in gear and i give it some some gas, let off, then give it some gas etc. etc. i can hear a definite clicky clunky sound from the rear end. Is this indicative of the rear shock mount failure? if so, is it covered under warranty?

Yes. It usually means there was an aftermarket spoiler install and they didn't secure the wiring. - peterg '96 328i w/ rattling trunk '95 M3 w/o spoilers

The BMW parts CD refers to it as a trailing arm (P/N 33 32 2 227 985 & -986)>> BMW can't get their shit right. Parts CD says its a trailing arm yet my Chassis Dynamics BMW tech book calls it a "Central Arm" for the Central "C" link Rear Suspension designs. I'm not surprised! Jon

When my RSMs went bad, the car would wiggle under acceleration. It was kind of interesting and can drive you crazy trying to figure out what causes it. Unfortunately, it now does the same thing with the Ground Control RSMs because, when trying to diagnose a clunking noise the other day, I found that I tore my rear sway bar mounts. I guess that doing this: http://www.autox4u.com/bmw.jpg is not good for the car. The clunking noise was because the nut on top of the driver's side strut loosened just a bit. -Wayne
