Car was fine, but the tires! oh my god. I hated them soo much I took a picture of them so that I would never drive a car with the same tires in my lifetime. Granted not many tires track like mxx3's, but these things were scary. made the trip very fatiguing. Otherwise I guess no real complaints. on a slight downhill I got that 320d up to 122mph. But, the car I lusted for I saw at CDG airport. It was a z3 coupe at hertz. it was just sitting there, but since I had already accepted the 320d, I didn't switch. You might check to see if any other hertz have bmw's. I would say the coupe would be the perfect rental car compromise. cheap cause its from a mass market renter, but better than the average rental. If you want a nice car, I found several but they are pricy. I think M3's arn about 1200 (1400?) a week. z3 2.8's were about 1000. honda s2000 and an audi A4 2.8 were about 1100 or 1200. PLUS mileage. One place told me that they would halve the mileage costs if I rented for 2 weeks... Jason

If this takes a wad of cash to fix, the intake is gonna have to wait! Anyway, referring to some on-line FAQs, I noticed a cryptic reference to a TSB that may have been issued on the ABS relay. Anybody have insight into this? I hope it's that simple.... Roger W. Graves RogRacer@aol.com '95 M3, waiting for either a JC Intake or ABS surgery.

#6. Re: [E36M3] JC Intake Kit - Subtle Differences? - from Bob Dorchester

Date: Wed, 25 Oct 2000 21:03:50 -0500 From: Bob Dorchester <rjdorche@concentric.net> Subject: Re: [E36M3] JC Intake Kit - Subtle Differences? Not knowing recent developments with Turner, I would recommend Eurosport. I had purchased the early Euro HFM kit 2 years before from Turner (with the infamous Euro airbox). When it became available, I purchased the Conforti intake from Eurosport. The rubber connector between the HFM and throttle body elbow furnished by Turner was too large in outside diameter for the Conforti intake. The combination would not fit (it caused the filter to tip upward) and I ultimately purchased a new connector from Josh. The OD difference seemed slight (1/4"?), but made all the difference. I had already repositioned the charcoal canister downward as low as it would go, but the Turner connector made the system unworkable. Turner may now have a new design. Btw, when I was having trouble with the JC intake installation, Josh UPSed a replacement shield as well as the connector so I could determine the problem and return the parts that weren't needed. The new shield was identical to the original, so I returned it and Josh charged me only for the connector. Regarding the injectors, I have not detected any problems or heard of this concern. Perhaps a fellow lister knows whether the 95 US spec M3 used different injectors from the Euro. If not, no worries.
