Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 10:45:27 -0500 From: "Jones, John" <JJones@INTERGEN.com> Subject: Exhaust fitment / advice needed M'wads - I have a co-worker with a '93 (I think) 325is (E36) with a bad exhaust. "Ah hah!," it strikes me, "Can you say new exhaust cost mitigation?" Now the questions: - Will my e36 m3 (98) fit his car? - What additional parts and gadgets would I need to install my old exhaust on his car (hangers, u bolts, etc)? - What is a fair price for an exhaust with 58K on the clock (with me doing the labor)? and most importantly, what should I buy? - I am looking for more ROAR at full throttle, high RPM - I spend most of my driving on the highway at about 4,000 RPM, and don't want to go deaf. (45 minutes each way, each day) - I like twin DTM tips, but can be open minded. My current bias is toward the UUC pipes, but know many of you bought other types in various group purchases. Talk to me! TIA, John Jones 98 M3-4 (not loud enough)

If you have a stock suspended E36 M3, what brand/size of rubber are you running? I've been told by some that (particularly with aftermarket suspensions), certain brands of rubber (even in 245/40/17) will not fit up front without spacers or rolling... Of particular interest are the following: Bridgestone SO-2 Pole Position Michelin Pilot Sport Yokohama AVS Sport Kumho ECSTA 712 (still debating as you certainly can't complain about the price...) TIA!!, Dave

I have a $200 certificate for a B&B Tri-flow for your M3. It expires at the end of November. After hearing how it sounds on another M3, I guess it would be too loud for my neighbors at the condo. Not that they are the deciding factor. On occasion, I will set off some sensitive alarms in the garage with the backpressure of my stock exhaust. I'd hate for that to happen all the time. The first one to answer this trivia question wins the certificate: What is Jacques Villeneuves' birthday (mm/dd/yy)? Ed Tang 95 Cosmos M3 Dear Ed, My birthday is 03/02/48. Please send the gift certificate to my good friend Chris who lives in in the USA. I will pick it up when I visit him for Halloween. :-) Your friend, Jacques, Now retired from racing

Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 09:47:08 +0100 From: "Brent Williams" <brent@williamsconsultingltd.com> Subject: E36 stuff for sale: I have two brand new fog light brackets. Left and right sides. I just bought new fog lights. $20 eachobo I also have a drivers side fog light without bracket. If you want it let me know. It has a few pits from rocks, and it has survived forever. Its not cracked, or yellowed, and works just dandy. I just want two perfect ones. $30 obo I am replacing both lights and I orderd some of those stone guard things. Should make the new ones last longer. Also have left and right front turn signals. The standard orange ones. $20 each obo Exhaust from a 94 325is is the attic somewhere, about 30k miles on it. Chrome tips on the exhaust. $175 obo Stone guard for the round headlights... e30, e34, e32. New in packaging, BavAuto sent the wrong thing. $45 Also have spare from the 325is. New tire, never used, steel wheel. Sunroof motor/switch from 95 M3. Replaced with 00 motor and switch. (one touch baby! open close AND tilt!) $20 obo I have a bra from the M3. Aprox one year old. Make offer. Rear speakers from M3, not harmon kardon. Make offer Front and rear Springs from 95 M3. $150 obo Front and rear sway bars from 95 M3. $50 each obo Also have euro headlights from a 316i. Good shape, but I don't know if they work, bought them in a junk yard in Holland. Go figure. Make offer. I have some of the wiring harness to go with it, just cut everything up and ripped them out. But the lights are physically intact with no damage to the mounting brackets etc. Make offer if you want them. No warranties. I will be more than happy to trade for other e36 stuff, just give me the details. Please make offers on any of this stuff if you want it. I will ship UPS to anywhere in US. I prefer not having the a/c come on automatically with defrost. Sometimes it isn't needed. The auto capability is put there to cover the morons who can't figure this stuff out on their own. - Rich
