Will the metal damage > the stock rotors? No problem. I've been running MetalMasters on the street with stock rotors for over three years. Can hardly detect any wear on the pads. I swap out PF90's for the track, don't swap rotors. - Rich

#5. Dinan camber plates/Bilstein - from Ed Tang

Date: Wed, 1 Nov 2000 09:07:03 -0800 (PST) From: Ed Tang <etangf1@yahoo.com> Subject: Dinan camber plates/Bilstein I have decided to replace my worn down stock dampers with Bilsteins and H&R springs. I would like to get non-adjustable camber plates and Dinan is the only one I'm looking at. I'm not worried about inside tire wear and I don't want to worry about the adjustable ones. I'm not going to rotate the cup for 0.1 degree of camber. Are there alternatives to the Dinan? And if anyone has the Dinan setup, how is the steering response? It is only heard when driving over imperfections in the road such as reflective lane dividers as used in California. What should I expect. Worn shock mounts wheel bearings. Am I in danger of anything breaking. Nothing seems loose under their. Jay 95M3 sharked and intaked

TIA I've got the Dinan plates, they seem fine. Certainly improved handling and tire wear on the track. Handling in general is better -- turn-in, stick, etc. Tire wear on the street is an issue, as expected. - Rich

The squeaking and clunking weren't too big of a safety issue in regular driving conditions, but the rattling I had absolutely was. The first thing I'd run out and check is the lug nuts on your wheels. After having some work done once, I noticed a rattling anytime I'd hit a pothole, speed bump, etc. I checked everything underneath and it was all fine. Then I decided to take my front wheels off to get to the swaybar links a little more easily to check them. On the side with the rattle, the *all* the lug nuts came out by hand!!! The jackholes that did the work didn't bother tightening them and, being the trusting guy that I am (was), I didn't bother to check. The lug nuts is the first thing I'd check (based on my frightening experience). Around 2.2-2.5 degrees of neg camber. I don't know how much dinan plates are, but I doubt they are $80. dz > I have decided to replace my worn down stock dampers > with Bilsteins and H&R springs. I noticed people wiht 96, 97's changing wheel bearings? whats that >about. can it be becasue I have floating rotors in front? i know of more 95 with wheel bearing problems then the newer cars. it's all about how much track time your car sees. i'd bet that a non tracked car would NEVER need new wheel bearings. at least not yet. maybe after 150,000 miles. but a few tracks days really plays hell with the bearings on your car. (not just wheel bearings either) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
