If you have tons of potholes and other fun stuff, you may want to put the girlie-man bushings in. Good roads won't hurt the car with the stiff bushings installed. There should be a small plastic nut that is now stripped that holds in on a protrude from the underside of the rear deck. Does anyone know what this thing is? > old EOM bushings were shot, with the passenger side being the worst. If the old bushings were shot you may have had some slop back there? > slightly higher speed, cornering under throttle - the car seems to > edge towards oversteer. could it be cold tires, cold temps and an > empty fuel tank ? I live in PA and with this colder weather I have almost killed myself a few times the past couple of days. Usually, it's nice and sunny and I end up stomping the gas only to have the rear slide. And that's with the ASC+T ON! So I would vote for cold tires and a lead foot :) HTH. Stephen http://b-t-g.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. I am able to remove the mounts without removing the rear speakers. I have since drilled 3 inch holes into the carpet and insulation using a hole saw so that the carpet does not need to be removed at all. First time took me 2 hours. Now I can swap out both mounts in about 45 min. BTW, I knocked out that plastic piece as well. There is plastic clip that is likely broken. I did not notice any additional oversteer. First off, this was a BITCH of a job. Forget the 2-2.5 hours. No friggen way. Perhaps a 4 door is a little tougher. It took a while to get all the carpeting and flooring out. About 30 pounds worth... Then I had a fight with the CD Changer. had to take it out. BTW, did you all know that the HK speakers have 3 screws holding them down, not two ? They must weigh 5# each.... also, what appears to be the amp is stowed on the drivers side in the trunk. All said, I was glorious in my attempt. other than a "funny looking" plastic braket that was used to cover something by the CD Changer that I have no clue how to put back. any ideas ? I just followed Dave Hollman's directions from www.racepad.com (and the unofficial bmw) he's the guy who said "two screws, remove speakers, etc. heck, at least now I know how to remove the speakers :-) > I have since drilled 3 inch holes > into the carpet and insulation using a hole saw so that the carpet does not > need to be removed at all. First time took me 2 hours. you must be much faster than me ! Granted, the first 30 min of my 4 hr job were spent cleaning up the workplace (Union rules, you know). But it did take a while.... > Now I can swap out > both mounts in about 45 min. BTW, I knocked out that plastic piece as well. > There is plastic clip that is likely broken. I guess the lack of the plastic Yurrup clip will yield another 10hp. > > I did not notice any additional oversteer. After adding more fuel and running in the warmer temps, I tend to agree. Now I am hearing a klunk though. Will test more tomorrow. GMK '97 MMM/4

Perhaps a 4 door is a little tougher.<snip> FWIW, I consider myself to be a meticulous (OK, anal retentive) mechanic, and I installed JTD RSMs in my 2-door, 30 min. for left side, 15 min. for right. I'm not sure how much value there is to the "removable bearing shuttles," since getting the shuttle out is two nuts away from doing the entire job. They were such pretty pieces, however, I just had to go with them over stock RSMs. MBaugh

Excellent condition with ~10k miles on them. These *should* it '96> M3's when used with '95 upper strut mounts. I love them but they are going to be a bit too stiff and low for my winter conditions and they are too pretty to put through the snow! Will sell for $990 or possible trade for a Koni/H&R set-up in good condition. Thanks, Rob

I'm not sure how much value there is to the "removable bearing > shuttles," since getting the shuttle out is two nuts away from doing the > entire job. you have got to be kidding ! 45 min total time ? Sheeeeeeeet, it takes me 20-25 min to jack up the car, choke the front wheels, remove the rears, etc. And I have to take a Vioxx before I start ;-) Then getting all the flooring and insulation and the speakers and the CDR from the trunk - another 30-45 min. Okay, so I did not want to rip anything apart. Still looks brand new. Can sell it as a "little ole' lady Sunday church hauler. LOL. the actual procedure wasn't bad, but taking this crap apart and putting it back together (hello, "goofy looking" plastic part that I have no clue where you go or what you do) is a real bitch. definitely not a 45 min procedure for me. Monty, where do you live? if around Milwaukee, perhaps you can teach me a trick or two. >They were such pretty pieces, however, I just had to go with >them over stock RSMs. Yes, they are pretty little things. Bought them from Dale B., right here on this list. (Thanks Dale!) I first found the seats with their price way overhyped on Ebay and made him an offer below his reserve. He took it. I'd like to find someone who can check this guy out and see if he appears legit. It owuld also let him know that he should play fair since he's being watched. Anybody out there able to help? The guy says he's about 15 minutes south of town. Jim
