As a point of reference, I come from 235/40 17 A032R for the street during winters.... I have tried 16" wheels with Dunlop Graspic Q rated...Great for chicago winters, but I couldnt take dry handling characteristics.....I dumped this in 2 months.... now I have original 10 sopke BMW wheels (17") with Pirelli winter 210 H rated. Much much better than the graspic. (tolerable) Still too much squirm and no grip compared to the A032r...... --- David Ripton <dripton@wizard.net> wrote: > Date: Wed, 15 Nov 2000 00:27:51 -0500 > From: David Ripton <dripton@wizard.net> > Subject: Winter tires > > My first winter with an M3 sedan is coming up, and > I'm looking for hints on > winter tires. #5. SSR Integrals question... - from Dorffer, Rich
Top
Date: Wed, 15 Nov 2000 14:58:08 -0500 From: "Dorffer, Rich" <RDORFFER@CleIndians.com> Subject: SSR Integrals question... Luis asked> Since we're talking about wheels here, does anybody happen to know if 245/40/17's will fit on 17x8 SSR Integrals (ET40) w/out rubbing? I'm buying some lighter shoes for my baby & I would like to use 245's all around. Thanks in advance, Luis, I have 17x8 SSR Integrals with A032R's in 235/40/17 with no spaces and no rubbing. If they made a 245/40/17, I do not think it would rub due to the amount of clearance with the 235/40/17. I know someone who has 17x8 SSR Integrals with MXX3's in 245/40/17 with no spacers and no rubbing. The MXX3's are known to be somewhat smaller than some other tires available in this size. Once you get into the 245/40/17, some may require spacers and some may not. Some may rub no matter what you do. I think most do not rub even without spacers and can be made to work with either 5mm or 10mm spacers (get form Steve D). Someone on this list needs to start compiling these results as this question is very routine. If I had more spare time I would. Maybe I should make the time. Regards, Rich

You can get the lens from Bekkers Imports. When I spoke to them at their O'Fest booth about this, they were $110/each (mine are badly pitted and in need of replacement as well - as soon as I don't need $200 for track time :-)) Bavarian Autosport may have them as well, since I believe they also sell the Euro headlights.
