Thunderhill has its own school at $175 per day which gets one approximately 2.5 hours of track time. By the way, next time you guys rent Laguna for a day, let me know, I may be interested. Holiday Gift Idea: Super Speedway DVD shows excellent footage of race cars (CART) around homestead and one road course. Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 09:59:34 -0700 From: Donna Seeley <dseeley@infoasis.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Lunatica Laguna Mark, No disclaimer was necessary, since GGC Board members are _not_ guaranteed spots in the schools, per Jim Grinstead. I've been waitlisted twice, but with low enough numbers to get in through normal attrition. Were you pricing LS for a single weekday or a full weekend? The GGC school accounting is open to our members. Events are expected to pay for themselves, which includes overhead we take for granted: the trailer, cones, lanyards, EZ-ups, equipment maintenance, and of course, instructors, insurance, corner workers, ambulance, tow truck, etc. It adds up. There is a lot you get with a CCA school that you don't get with a private rental. There is also the safety factor. Many people just don't want to run with poorly-trained and/or aggressive drivers in Pro-7s or GT3s. Last December, one group's newsletter congratulated its members for a (dry) weekend with "only" four cars damaged. It all comes down to what people want out of the event. I'm sure many on the wait list would be glad if a few more people decided to get their seat time elsewhere. Yeah, about 2 hours sounds about right, with 1-1/2 hours spent getting all the trunk lining crap out of the way :-) As to torque specs, I can look and see if I still have the instructions for the JTD RSMs I installed. They may have torque specs on them. (IIRC, the two 13mm(?) nuts that hold the RSM in place was a small torque - 13ft-lbs?) Cheers, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4
