Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 11:45:02 -0500 From: "Carey Probst" <hcprobst@alum.mit.edu> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Wax or other types Personally, I'm partial to Zymol. That's what my dealer used when delivered and I've been using ever since. It's expensive, time consuming to apply, but personally I think it's worth it. I started with Carbon for my Red M3 but upgraded to Concours or Destiny which have to be applied with bare hands, not an applicator because you need the body heat to melt the carnuba wax. The only really painful part is when you need to do a cleanse before waxing but the waxing goes fairly fast, just rub on and wipe off before it dries. It's a great product, and I used it myself a few weeks ago. It's really more of a show polish than a wax, though. I tend to use it mostly for the Z5 product, which reduces the swirl marks considerably. At any rate, if you're intending to throw on a last coat of wax before the winter, I'd go with a carnauba wax product rather than use the Zaino products. When spring comes, that's when you start using the Zaino products to get back the shine and luster. Honestly, the stuff will make your paint shine as if it was brand new! Hope that helps Ariel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Manger" <Robert_Manger@Mastercard.com> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmwmpower.com> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2000 10:05 AM Subject: [E36M3] Wax or other types > Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 10:56:00 -0500 > From: "Robert Manger" <Robert_Manger@Mastercard.com> > Subject: Wax or other types > > Fellow enthusiasts, > > I have been recently looking for a better wax than I currently have. (off by 1mph) So what is this all about?? Hey Dan- You could get them from a dealer, or some places like Bavarian Autosport (www.bavauto.com) or BMP Design (www.bmpd.com). If you're like me, and prefer to get BMW products from a BMW dealer, try Circle BMW, they generally have great prices and service (http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/parts.html). I've heard lots of good things, but was more comfortable using Griot's Garage's Best of Show Wax... it's a traditional wax that's very easy to apply. Doesn't stain your black moldings a nasty white, either. -kit 97 m3, with newly enhanced audio and suspension

I haven't tried Zaino myself (Corvette guys love it). I have been very happy with P21S wax - also available at carcareonline. It goes on very easily and is fairly durable. I once used Zymol on my Porsche - never again man. It looked great, but was the biggest pain in the ass to apply.
