He may be able to fix yours for you. His main thrust is leather, mainly with the Z3 crowd. He's also done some M3 stuff like Dakar yellow leather steering wheel tabs etc. Connect to: http://www.leatherz.com/ Ron@unofficialbmw.com FLY BMW Marlborough, CT www.unofficialbmw.com/ronstygar.html

Someone (I'm sorry I can't remember who) recommended that Recaro would have them. Recaro is telling ProParts that they don't know anything about it. Has anyone got these plugs and can give me a fresh lead on them? Jim

Date: Sat, 23 Dec 2000 09:46:41 -0800 (PST) From: Matt Henson <hensonator@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Illuminated shift knob... no more :-( You should probably use a 1/2 watt resistor. Most LED's operate at ~2V. It will say on the back of the package. So if the peak car voltage is 14V, the resistor will drop 12V and the LED ~2. The power dissipated in the resistor is V^2/R = 144/470 = .31W. The 1/2 Watt should be good. You should also double check the value of the resistor. If the LED is rated at an operating current of 25mA then the 470 is good. Note that you can adjust the brightness of the LED with different resistors, up to the max current of the LED. I'm sorry for the delay. Cox@Home finally got me back online after an outage of 13 days. I'll post the December 16th results as soon as I receive them. Also, if you have attended a San Diego event and have any feedback, I'd appreciate it. We will be reviewing this season and making final plans for the 2001 season this next month. Watch for registration notification for the March Driver's School at Buttonwillow in the Fahren Affairs newsletter and the webpage during the first week of January. Cost for the two day school is expected to remain at $320 again this year, continuing one of the best values in the west. http://www.sdbmwcca.com/events.htm Jim Powell Webmeister Autocross Chair San Diego Chapter

Every BMW ordered with alloy wheels in Germany (or in Europe for all I know) comes with the standard BMW coded wheel bolts and an adapter to drive them in and out. The adapter is stored in the trunk tool kit. I am not sure why BMW NA deletes this system from their cars. -John '96 318is -- john.firestone@nord-com.net -- john.firestone@nord-com.net
