My 98 M3 with Dinan Stage I and UUC Swaybarbarians was feeling pretty stiff on these godawful Seattle roads. I adjusted the Konis down to 1/2 turn out from full soft--a noticeable improvement. The sways were set at full soft front, full stiff rear, as recommended for a starting point. I put the rear bar on the softer setting, and it made a big difference. Rear suspension now feels much more compliant. Some have said that swaybars don't effect ride quality significantly, compared to shocks and springs, but I don't think that's the case. I think my rear suspension was "bound up" by the very stiff swaybar. So there. The car was finally doing everything I wanted it to do, and did it well. The setup was your basic digester one step at a time thang. Eibach springs, Bilstein sports, X-Brace, Dinan sway bars, Dinan strut tower brace, AA shock tower brace, and -2.5 degree camber. The car handled like it was on rails. With Hawk HT-8 pads on ATE slotted rotors, I could out brake the guys with the Porsche turbo brakes. The biggest problem with running -2.5 on the street is that they wear like crazy. I was going through 2-3 sets of STREET tires per year. One day Leo and I did some back to back comparisons of my car vs. a Dinan car that had -1.75 camber and a fully tuned/matched suspension. Can you guess what the results were? You're damned right...the Dinan car (and believe me I have NO love for Steve Dinan) did the job better. It handled turns, bumps, and imperfections in the road noticeably better than my car. So now you're askin' "is this an ad for Dinan". Hell No! Maybe it's an ad for Leo Franchi at Midwest Motorsport, who I believe is a friggin' world of knowledge, but mostly I'm sayin'... 1. Run lots of camber, buy lots of tires. 2. Try to out 'tune' the tuners, and you'll waste time and money. My current car, stock suspension except for an x-brace and UUC Strut Barbarian. I took those measures more for structural integrity than for performance gains. If I do anything else, it'll probably be Dinan or a tuned UUC setup. I find this to be a good compromise setting for the street (100-mile RT commute) and track (about 15-20 events per year), It satisfies my handling & tire wear requirement, as well as the "lazy bastard" side of me as well :-) So, my opinion is 2-2.5 neg camber is a good range for a mostly street/mostly track car. Of course dumb-ass me forgot to plug in the tensioner sensor, which set off the SRS light. Is there a tool out there that will reset this, or am I going to have to pay a visit to the dealership? Would like to be able to reset my own light... anyone have any luck having Allison or Stevens Creek BMW in the south sf bay area doing it for free? -kit, the cheap m3 owner

The one thing that has me stumped is how I get the signal from the head unit to the sub amp? I was thinking a speaker level --> RCA adapter, but what speaker wires do I splice? The rear woofers? This is a single channel amp (Xtant 121m) so I would only be splicing into one rear channel which is kinda wierd. I know that I should just replace all the stock stuff, and it might be easier, but all I wanna do is add a little more bass.
