I've had a few sets, and I think they're great. They're very sticky for the street, but not very good for autocross/track. Excellent wet-weather performance, and they have agood feel in handling. I just started running P-Zero's, and I'm ready to dump them and buy a new set of Toyo's. -peterg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using HiSpeed Technologies Webmail. http://www.hispeed.com

I had the Toyo T1S' on my car last season and autocrossed them all season long. I thought they were excellent. They took a bit of getting used to, but I thought they were quite good for a street tire at autocrossing. Didn't take them to the track, so no idea there.

Whoops, sorry for the 2nd e-mail everybody, hit send before I meant to. Despite their 280 wear rating, one of the other guys on the NCC's autocross committee, a very fast SCCA ITS driver, and myself killed a set of these tires in one season + 10,000 street miles. #4. Schroth Harness - from Tobin Finley

Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2001 19:42:45 -0500 From: Tobin Finley <tfinley@fdt.net> Subject: Schroth Harness I would like to install a pair of harness belts before the Winterfest driving school, and have heard that Schroth belts are the preferred ones. I have a harness bar that I was going to use with a pair of Sabelt belts, but the Sabelts require drilling a hole for a mounting point. It looks like the Schroth belts connect to the seat rails, and don't require drilling. Can the 4-point Schroths be used with a harness bar? Who has the best deal on Schroths? Thanks, Tobin '95 M3

I suppose you could use a harness bar with the Schroth belts, but I use it without a harness bar. Every car I've seen 'em in has had them without the harness bar. Though that's not to say that it can't or shouldn't be done. I know HMS Motorsport (http://www.hms-motorsport.com/) carries them, but don't know if anybody else does & has better prices. Andrej

I think I read on the list a while back that some E36 M3s (mine is a 95) that sometimes they would hunt for the correct idle at a stop. Seems that it had to do w/ the clutch/vacuum release. Mine is now doing it on a regular basis. Any ideas? TIA Evan '95 M3

It is a daily driver and a weekend autocrosser. The Koni's work great with the stock springs. I run my front's full soft, and the rears almost full stiff for autocrossing. For the street, I would only run the rears about 1/2 stiff. I will probably upgrade the rears soon the the DA so I can have the externally adjustable, and get them valved a little stiffer so I have more adjustment room left in rebound.
