I bought one at Pep Boys the other day but there is a sticker on it that reads, "CAUTION: Consult service manual before using this device on vehicles with air bags to avoid accential inflation". That sticker's got me worried. Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA AS Champion 1997 & 2000 #13 BSP 2001

Tire Rack can tell you. The advantage of 16" wheels is that you get a little more sidewall height for comfort/rim protection in winter conditions, and there's also a much wider choice of tires. > 2. Where can I get 17" wheels and winter tires, pref. in upstate NY > or mail. > 3. Would 4 235/45 tires be as good as the 235/45 and 245/40 combo that > is standard? The standard combo is 225/45-17 front (not 235). The trade-offs are that narrower tires perform better in snow but not otherwise, and that winter tires in general don't handle very well other than in snow. Handling is what the M3 is all about, so how much of one do you want to give up for the other? This will be my 5th winter on the Pirelli Winter 210 tires, size 225/50-16 on ACT-LS 16" rims from Tire Rack. These are "performance" winter tires, in that they are H speed rated, and handle decently in non-snow conditions. They certainly don't have the snow/ice grip of say Blizzaks, but then Blizzaks have crappy handling. I've found the Pirellis to provide a reasonable middle ground for a performance car. I want to know how much power one can extract from a streetable 3.0L US M3 without going to forced induction or NOS!. I've heard some track guys are getting 250+RWHP, is this true? Here is the combo I am looking at for a 3.0L: -Jim C chip -Jim C intake + Euro HFM -Supersprint headers -Fox cat-back (Euro size) -Cams (DSR or Schrick) -Larger injectors (if needed) Can I expect ~240RWHP (~290 crank HP) ???? Thanks, Rob

There was some talk of the DSR cams and ECIS euro intake kit last week on bimmer.org. Here is the link ==> http://forums.roadfly.com/m3/messages/archive/msgsy2001w03/63543.html They are claiming that 240 rwhp is attainable with the reground cams, euro hfm, ecis euro cai, and a chip. Supposedly they believe that 245 is reachable with a little more ecu tuning. Package price somewhere around 1600 bux. A pretty good deal, but this brings up another question...How much does it cost to have the cams installed? Local bimmer dealer says 9.5 hours @ 75 bux an hour. But one of their master techs says he will do it on a weekend for 400. This is too confusing. ===== JW- 1995 ///M3 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
