What gauge would you recommend? Since I only get about 6 psi of boost, I need a gauge that only goes to 15 psi. I have heard bad things about the VDO boost gauge. I know that Sharp Precision Instruments makes a high quality gauge but they only offer 20 psi. Are there any other choices? I would prefer a gauge with vacuum pressure. Also, what would you recommend for the second gauge; lean/ rich, oil temp or oil pressure? Thanks for your help, Ross

I had to run mine full soft in front to get good handling, >and full stiff in back. the 2nd paragraph starts with "It should be noted that too much rebound on either end of the vehicle will cause an initial loss of lateral acceleration (cornering grip) a that end". the key here is the "TOO MUCH" in there. they are NOT saying "increasing rebound decreases grip". they are saying "note... if you go too far, you'll get the opposite effect as what you should expect". i'm sure, for instance, that if you tightened up the rears TOO MUCH, you'd end up lifting the wheels right off the ground under heavy braking, which would redice grip in a dramatic way. but again, that's only if you go TOO FAR. as long as you're in the "sweet spot", tightening the rears will keep more weight there, and thus, more traction there. as for full soft front, full stiff rear. i can see how that would work for an autocross track, or REALLY REALLY tight, slow road course. if you're slamming on the brakes, turning 90-180 degrees, and slamming on the gas again, all within 2 seconds, that setup would work. but if you're at a road coruse, where you enter a long sweeper at 60mph, after only moderate braking, glide to apex for 2-3 seconds, and then want to accelerate at the apex, to get an exit speed of 90mph, after 8 more seconds of the turn, your settings are gonna give you fits. you'll turn in great, but after those initial 2-3 seconds, as you get on the gas, you'll have no grip in the front at all. and you'll end up pushing right off the outside of the corner. unless you wait until the very end of the 10 second turn to get on the gas. (in tight autocross turns you pretty much DO wait until the tirn is over to get back on the gas) this brings up a good point. if you doal in the suspension for great "fast corner" handling, you're giving up hairpin handling. and vice versa. i'm SO glad i don't have to do "car setup" for a living, i just drive what they give me. ;-P _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

While I have nowhere near the extensive options as Rich has, here goes with my details: 1998 M3/2, 23K miles, Titanium Silber (yes, that's silver) with Dove Grey leather interior. 5-speed, with all those "heavy" factory options (power everything, sunroof, CD changer, etc.). Only aftermarket options: JimC chip and x-brace. Front calipers rebuilt, new discs and pads at all four corners within last 200 miles. Disclaimer: Car has seen limited action in CCA Driving Schools, but what little maintenance the car has required has been performed by Bill Arnold (those involved in the Bay Area CCA will know who I mean). Car is located in San Francisco. Asking $35,000. I also have 4 17x8 IFG A5 track wheels with worn Toyo RA-1s (maybe one school left) that can be sold with the car or separately. If you wanna get _real_ fancy, after the caliper dries, take some touch-up paint and fill in the M-logos. I used a light blue, purple, and red for toyotas. ;-) -p

It's more of a mat finish. The Porsche rotors almost look enameled.
