I hard that they are supposed to be bigger than the E36 M3. Maybe a cheaper upgrade? =============================================== The 330i/Ci rotors are the same diameter as the E46 M3, ie, 325mm (the M3's are 3mm thicker). They are a big jump over the E46 328i which uses 300x22mm disks. SD ================================== Steve D'Gerolamo - The Ultimate Garage - Tel 201-262-0412

#2. Broken sway bar mounts and brackets. - from David Forster

Date: Thu, 25 Jan 2001 16:51:39 -0800 From: David Forster <df@prolifixmedical.com> Subject: Broken sway bar mounts and brackets. Fellow digesters. I have a '98 M3 cabriolet with HR adjustables and RD sway bars. I originally had the bars set at stiff front-stiff rear. I broke the sway bar mounting bracket in the front three times (once on one side, twice on the other). I decided to switch to medium-medium in an effort to reduce the forces on the bracket and found out I had broken the rear mount that is part of the car on one side. I have been running it with no bar in the back for the last week while I await the weld in repair mounts for the rear....and today the front bracket broke for the 4th time. I am not quite sure when the rear mount broke, it could have been when one of the fronts broke and it was taking the full flex. load. Likewise, I suspect the front may have broken this time because it was taking all the stress while the back is disconnected, but the occurrence rate of this failure mode is very concerning to me. I have plenty of the proper lubrication on the urethane bushings, and plan to go to soft-soft after I weld in the new rear bracket mounts, but I would think the car should not experience these problems. I have not talked to the dealer about this since I am running non-stock suspension. I assume they would not cover the repairs or any of these failures. True? I know the cabriolet is a much less stiff car than the coupe, and the stress of the flexing body probably loads the sway bars more than a coupe, but I would not expect the mounts in the back, and brackets in the front to break. Two questions: Any ideas other than the fact that it is a convertible that may be causing the problem? Secondly are there any aftermarket brackets for the front that I can use? I am running the RD's and urethane bushings in the factory bracket housings? Thanks for all your advice. Dave GGCCA

Shane, I have not tried this myself yet, but Ground Control has a nice set at: http://www.ground-control.com/gcbmwcat.htm I have been happy with other Ground-Control Parts, and I will try these myself soon. Date: Thu, 25 Jan 2001 22:50:48 -0800 From: "NickG" <nikog@mediaone.net> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Seat bolster wear I think that seat covers (I have them) help prevent wear of the leather's topside. But the real culprit is how you enter and exit the seat. If you always slide across the bolster, crushing it each time you enter and exit the vehicle, the seat is gonna wear. I try to plant my butt in the seat, then lift my leg up and over the bolster. This helps avoid the wear and tear on the side bolster. I'm selling it with my set of winter wheels/tires plus 2 extra street tires. I'm having a helluva time moving it at $24,500. My car is EXTRA clean. Talk about frustrating. Not trying to be a bummer, just warning you of what may be out there. Unfortunately, the prices of the '95 M3's are plummeting. Kbb had my car at $27,800 when I first advertised it 3 months ago. Today Kbb has it at $25,200. Good luck selling!
