A 1/2 inch airgun for instance. Or cutoff tool. Etc. Then make sure the compressor will keep up. I personally like to go overboard. I hate working around a compressor that's either on constantly or cycling every 2 seconds. My minimum compressor is the one I bought. A 30 gallon tank with a 6HP compressor. That's the minimum I was willing to tolerate. If I could, I'd have one the size of a water heater with a Big-A 2 stage belt driven compressor. I can't afford the space or the maintenance though. That explains why I had so much trouble driving that S4 smoothly. I spent all day sunday instructing in S4s at the PIR Quattro day. One student wanted me to drive his car. I found it very neutral, easy to drive quickly, no bad habits. The brakes were good although I never got smooth with them in the 15 minutes I drove it. And the pedal was too high, I absolutely could NOT 'ball and side' like I do in the M3. Maybe that drive by wire had something to do with it. I'm used to transitioning from hard brake to light brake and throttle to hard throttle in the M3, but never got it in the S4. His was totally stock, but still a nice ride. I instructed with another person with a chip and Yok AVS and 18" BBS. That car was WAY faster than the stock one. Overall very nice cars, but AWD will never replace RWD in 'my' fun car. M3 content - I got to run the M3 in the advanced sessions for free for instructing! I hadn't expected it so was on the MXX3s, but they did fine. dw 95 M3

#3. There goes my radiator - from Bora Akyol

Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 17:43:20 -0800 From: Bora Akyol <akyol@akyol.org> Subject: There goes my radiator Well everyone, A while back you may remember that I had to add about a quart of coolant to my car without seeing any leaks. While they were putting in my new Dinan suspension, the mechanic has noticed that the neck of the radiator is cracking. We think my extended warranty will cover this and I am also having them do the water pump since my car is a 95 and I have no proof that it has ever been replaced. It looks as if I got about 93K miles out of this one before the neck broke. I am glad that this did not happen either at an autocross or on the road resulting in an overheat situation. Bora

I'm planning to do most of the inspection service myself and was hoping to get a list of parts so I can get them all in one shot instead of three or four trips to/back from the dealer. Thanks in advance. -John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail. http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/

My sis has two cats that she adopted from one of those animal rescue places. The cats are now 3 years old and recently the behaviour of one changed drastically. My sis brought him into the vet and they did an ultrasound. They found a large tumor growth (bigger than golf ball) near/around/in the intestines. The doctor said to put the car down, but I was wondering what else could be done since the cat means so much to her. Thanks, Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail. http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/

I found the same computer left foot braking problem while driving a 996TT a few months ago. Imagine my surprise my I tried to left foot brake in this 420HP, 18" wheel'd, big brake monster and the power just died!. Oh wow what a car! Give me a 993TT or an E36 M3 any day! Rob

Have you tried a motorcycle store. I've seen two riders on a motorcycle, each with a microphone in front of the mouth, so I took that as evidence of an intercom. The headset seemed to fit under the helmet, just like you'd want. Have no idea what they cost, however. Lee Hassig '95 M3

Date: Wed, 28 Feb 2001 23:15:24 -0500 From: "Seth Thomas" <porsche993@mindspring.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] damn computers!!!!!!!!!! I had an S4 ordered at one point in time. I test drove a 6-spd and liked it but like Sean says the pedals suck. It was really hard to heal toe and I didn't notice the drive by wire system but that might be why it wouldn't heal to right. I was going to use the car as a daily driver too but I knew I would take it to the track eventually for a "FUN" run. But I got a new job and didn't need a nice car anymore to drive to work in. I cancelled my order and haven't looked back since. I bought an E30 M3 to make up for it. You have the determination of a monk ;) Sean says, "This new M3 is not going to be a track car." Sean says, "This S4 is not going to be a track car." ....and he never took either one for a fun run. That's incredible! Perhaps it's because the pedals on the S4 are lame....wouldn't know...I've never driven one before or sat in one for that matter. Heck, I rarely see S4s on the road.
