Date: Sun, 4 Feb 2001 02:10:24 -0800 (PST) From: Dale Beuning <dalus@eskimo.com> Subject: 4 17x7 forged ltw double spoke wheels for sale I have a set of 4 17"x7.5" BMW Motorsport Forged double-spoke wheels for sale. There are 3 yoko 0032r's mounted, but they are mainly good for protecting the rims. http://www.unofficialbmw.com/images/e36/e36_m3_left2.jpg These rims have minor scraches, I'll try to take photos and get them up on a page: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/wheels.html Price, well, I'm not sure. New is about $1600 for these rims and these are in good shape. I know I'd take $1200 for these, so I'll take the best offer I get that's close to that amount. #3. BMWCCA schools vs. PCA schools - from TheBrinkmans@aol.com
Top
Date: Sun, 4 Feb 2001 11:47:26 EST From: TheBrinkmans@aol.com Subject: BMWCCA schools vs. PCA schools I'm surprised by the discussions that the BMWCCA schools seem expensive. It has always seemed that if you work out the cost per hour of one-on-one instruction on the track the BMWCCA schools were far less expensive than any alternatives. Many of the professional schools send you out on your own and "observe" your driving. I can't imagine that is as helpful or educational as having an experienced instructor riding shotgun. Of course, not all instructors are created equal. And many get burned out. Going around in circles in someone else's car gets tiring after a while. On the other hand, some students are dull and slow to respond to instruction so the instructor tunes out. My experience with PCA schools, (pretty limited so far) is that the instructors are paying to attend the school as well as the students. So the cost of the event is amortized over a larger number of drivers. At BMW schools the instructors don't pay to attend. The free school is their form of compensation. But, when I've instructed at PCA events my thoughts are mostly on not missing my track time that I've paid for. Whereas, at the BMW schools the instructors track time is separate from the students sessions. I think the BMWCCA runs things better for the beginning and intermediate students. But, adding up the total costs of a weekend!!! Mightily dangerous thinking!!! Definitely a "don't ask, don't tell" situation in my book. Ken Brinkman 97 M3 track car.

#4. Rolex 24 at Daytona question (JET Motorsports) - from Chester Wong

Date: Sun, 4 Feb 2001 08:55:36 -0800 (PST) From: Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> Subject: Rolex 24 at Daytona question (JET Motorsports) I haven't been following the series of events too closely, but how did JET Motorsports convince the sanctioning bodies to allow them to shoehorn a M5 engine into the E46M3? It's only JET Motorsports and not PTG that is allowed to run the M5 engine, correct? What is JET Motorsports? A privateer? Factory supported like PTG? Partners with PTG (since Tom Milner and the PTG guys prepped the car)? Finally, when will PTG be allowed to run the M5 engine? You know, while they're at it, they should put the LMR engine into the M3 ;) Oh, btw, I'm a little unclear why the LMR wasn't competing. Anyway, all I can say is Speedvision rocks! I recently trashed the local cable provider (Cablevision) in favor of EchoSTAR satellite service ;) Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Matt, your source above doesn't list a radiator for the E36 M3, or even the 328i, on their web site. Are you saying they do in fact have one? In fact if you search for a radiator for a 95 or later M3, they comes up with a 2.5 litre engine, which suggests that this outfit doesn't know the difference between the E30 and E36. Neil 96 M3

About them not listing the proper radiator/year/engine displacement combination on the website.... If you go to a 1998 M3, they start listing a 3.2L engine size. The radiator for the 3.2L is listed a being under development, so I'd call them before I would order the 2.5L radiator under the assumption that it's the same as what you need in your M3. They're open track sessions. I've never been to a NASA event where they've had enough instructors for even 1/4 of the beginners group. They think nothing of turning complete rookies loose on the track alone. Scary. NASA is a great way to get cheap track time if you've already got some experience, but don't expect to get quality instruction. > On the other hand, I did hear that BMWCCA schools are much more strict and > maybe all the organization etc takes more money. > The BMW events have become overpriced in the last 12 months, IMHO. However, they've got the best instruction program around bar none. Seriously. And that costs money. As far as I can tell, the price disparity is because BMW Club pays for all the hotel rooms, food, etc. for its instructor corps. Still too expensive, though. - Mark '95 M3 '97 528i 5-spd '88 M3, Hennarot ---- Mark Dadgar - Product Manager, Visor (650) 230-5037 voice - (650) 230-2100 fax mdadgar@handspring.com - Handspring, Inc Check out Visor at www.handspring.com!
