You tell me, if he's already capable of the paper bag trick, how much trouble do you think he'll be capable of with Kat? Moreover, with the itchy trigger fingers that so many Law Enforcement Officials seem to have today... For my 14th birthday, my old man gave me an 8-year-old P/U truck that the clutch that was shot on. That X-mas he gave me the parts for the clutch and a Haynes manual with the clutch R&R page flagged. He told me that if I replaced the clutch with my bare hands (same bare hands that temporarily got trapped between the Tranny and the concrete of the driveway as I tried to lower it by hand while on jack stands, I had no idea it was THAT heavy...) and got a job to pay for the gas and insurance, the truck was mine... I distinctly recall being on the lot of Santa Monica BMW (West Los Angeles for you non-Californians) and looking at CPO M3s which had KBB stickers on the inside of the window listing the car with options, mileage and KBB Suggested Retail. The kicker is that SM BMW actually used those prices to resell the cars... I don't know if they still do that, I don't go to SM BMW anymore. Brings up a good point. KBB is smoking crack in terms of their appraised values for the market value of vehicles. I hardly ever see cars actually obtaining what the book states, except of course the trade-in values they post. Mark

James Clay wrote: > http://www.extremegeez.com/ - here it is Very popular with autocrossers. The inventor, Byron Short, is an avid autocrosser and occasionally travels around the country offering classes on how to best interpret the data. I've used one for about a year now and although the learning curve was steep for me, I feel it's a great investment. There's also news that the programming has been updated to record 25 minutes of data now on a Palm computer (free upgrade for current owners). The previous limit was six minutes. This would be good for drivers' school sessions or short races. You have to download the run to a PC or laptop to view it. There's a ton of information available from the downloaded run as well as a graphic display of your laps or autocross run. You can compare different runs or laps side by side to see where you were braking earlier or later, how your exit speeds compare, etc. You can also enter your car data and the program will compute engine RPMs. That allows you to tell the program to change gears at any time so you can see where you might be better off in a different gear or even a different rear end ratio. You can synchronize two runs or laps and play them back in real time as well. It'll also do anything a G-Tech will do like 0-60, 60-0, 1/4 mile time and speed, accurate HP readings (you have to supply vehicle weight, gearing, tire size, frontal area, CD, drivetrain losses), plus so much more. It also grades various aspects of your driving. Also, Byron is awesome as far as customer support. One of the best "upgrades" I've done. I've uploaded a screen shot at: <http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewPhoto?u=1519434&a=11485868&p=40524824> of a run I did at Philly a couple of weeks ago on street tires in rain and sleet, but you can also take the GEEZ tour at their web site... pretty neat tool. -- Ron Katona
