Whaddaya talkin' about, naked? Sheesh, the first thing I do is pull the cheesy chrome badges off to clean up that busy trunk. It can also be fun to confuse and befuddle the rice boys -- wasn't there soemone on the list who put a 318is badge on their blown M? That sounds like a fun trick ;-) -p

A: 96mm (the bottom of the M to the very end of the reverse light (i didnt measure the black area right below it)..the measurement from the top of the M revealed 125mm. B: 84mm...the top of the M to the trunk edge was 92mm C: 32mm...the top of the 3 to the trunk edge was 32mm and measurements were made using dial calipers- cheap ones, but accurate nonetheless... and yes, i got funny looks from the neighbors... #7. [E36M3] New Owner - PLEASE Help! - from Robert Liu

Date: Sat, 10 Feb 2001 15:26:00 -0800 (PST) From: Robert Liu <bob_a_liu@yahoo.com> Subject: [E36M3] New Owner - PLEASE Help! Hi Everyone, I just bought a 95 M3, and would appreciate some help. Unfortunately, I already have a major problem. The car has high mileage: 146k, so I had a dealer check it out. The car has been meticulously maintained, with synthetics and had Service II every 30k. No major problems - just worn tires and brake pads. The compression check showed all cylinders 174-176 psi, and leak down or 1-2%. The Tech said the car drove great. Leaving the dealer, I noticed a slight "hiccup" under light throttle. I thought maybe a misfire. Stopped and checked the coil packs to make sure everything was tight. Still, car misfires, more and more. Unfortunately, the dealer was closed by this time. I drove the car home, and pulled the plugs. They looked fine, but had some oil on the threads. Any ideas? I noticed that when the BMW Tech did the compression/leakdown, he turned the motor counterclockwise. I'm wondering if this could have hurt the VANOS system? I'd like to get some background info before I confront the dealer on Monday. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!
