First the rose sprayer gets used for a brake bleeder, now her weeding tool. Notice a pattern? Watch next week when I convert a whirly-gig fertilizer spreader to a cylinder honing tool. My question is does anyone have any experience with a catalytic converter going and it not being covered under the extended warranty. Were you successful in getting it covered? My dealer says mine needs to be replaced and the cost is $1,200.00 thanks bob

Date: Mon, 5 Mar 2001 09:37:12 -0500 From: "Jonathan Evans" <jonathanevans@hotmail.com> Subject: sneaky radar detectors I bought my car with a K-40 already halfway installed (long story, missing front sensor). 2 sensors, one in the front grill, one in the rear deck lid (3rd brake light). The rear one detects front and rear much sooner than the front. Both detect drug stores, grocery stores and stop light sensors VERY well. Different noises for different bands of radar. Mounting can be as stealth as you want. 3 little LEDs and a knob, which can be hidden anywhere. It also has no mute. Very annoying. Jonathan Evans

Input your zip code. This will give you the names, photos and email addresses of the reps for Sales, Service, etc. Send an email to the Sales person describing the problem and asking who has the TC-3500 and/or who can be depended upon to do the job properly. I've done this in two different locations and both times gotten very honest assessments of what was available locally and good recommendations. (Included in the last recommendations were the two nearest BMW Dealers both of whom have the TC-3500.)

I was there late last week and saw a new Hunter TC3500 laying in pieces on the floor waiting to be assembled. Their inability to handle those pesky M3 rims should be corrected shortly ;-) Also, I take my wheels to a local Mueller tire chain and they are very well equipped to handle my rims (they use Hunter TC3500s). Needless to say, they still struggle with my rims at times and sometimes it takes two guys to get the job done without harming the rim. Regards, Rich 95 M3

#9. [E36M3] Low speed vibration? - from Colin_S_Whelan@rrfc.raytheon.com

Date: Mon, 5 Mar 2001 11:19:52 -0500 From: Colin_S_Whelan@rrfc.raytheon.com Subject: [E36M3] Low speed vibration? Hi group, Ok, I've become paranoid looking for every last problem on my car. I've noticed a very low speed "vibration" as I accelerate slowly in 1st gear (only). When I'm crawling in traffic and I'm slowly accelerating/decelerating in 1st (1,000-2500 rpm), I notice an unevenness/lumpiness that can be felt through the shift knob (but it doesn't feel like the engine). It's very slight and you have to accelerate/decelerate at a specific rate to really feel it. Go try it guys and let me know if I have too much time on hands, or if they all do this! Thanks, Colin '98 M3 (JC, X, ITG), 30k miles
