According to a conversation on the club racing list, there is a good reason for T.C. Kline's unresponsiveness right now. I don't remember the exact reason...it may have had something to do with a key employee leaving or something (so don't go quoting me on this). Regardless, rest assured that there is a good explanation and in the past, all dealings I have had with T.C. Kline have been great. FWIW, the explanation came from Bob Tunnell, so it in essence came straight from the horses mouth. Try calling them back. Hopefully they'll be back to normal soon. -Bryan Watts ************************************************************* List Commands UNSUBSCRIBE - (in subject line) unsubscribes you from the mailing list. #2. New battery info - from dbruce

Date: Tue, 06 Mar 2001 02:06:51 -0500 From: dbruce <dbrucepoip@yahoo.com> Subject: New battery info Well I went out Saturday to find a battery for my 95 M3. I first stopped at the BMW dealership, but the service and parts debt close at 1:00PM (big surprise). So I stopped at Sears. It turns out nothing was in the database for the 95 M3. What was in the database was the group 48 for the 92-96 M3's (in the book, not the computer database). In any case, since there is a money back warranty, I picked up the battery. The battery is the same dimensions except for being around an inch shorter in length. It has the vent adaptation for BMW's. It took around a half hour to an hour to install. The venting worked no problem. There is a screw with a bracket that holds the battery in place, it had to be moved to the left one place. The Sears Diehard costs $99 dollars and puts out 700 CCA (50 more then the stock Douglas). It is lighter and looks better with my black interior (if I ever need to show off my battery). I did not get the core refund since I did not return the old battery back to Sears (to lazy to travel there). 2 year replacement warranty and 72 month prorated warranty. FYI: They had several in stock (no one else had anything compatible).

Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2001 08:28:53 -0600 From: "Riley, Scott" <SRiley@CardinalCapital.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Re: TC Kline rollbar to cage conversion With regards to TC Kline's unresponsiveness, the departure of Brian from the Ohio store is partially to blame, but the bigger reason is that he has been working 24/7 getting his 2 new cars (E46 M3s) ready for the Speedvision World Challenge series. In fact, he had so little time that he raced in this weekend's season opener in Dallas with a bone stock motor. As you would expect, he was a little underpowered in the straights against the S4s and PD's NSX, but he held his own everywhere else. Since I live in Dallas, I was able to spend some time with TC in the pits during this weekend and he definitely has his plate full. I would tend to cut him some slack for his unresponsiveness if it is because he is racing. Remember, if he wasn't involved in racing, he wouldn't be able to pass along his amazing knowledge via his retail store. They talked about going to Sebring immediately after this weekend, but Jim and Mark should be in the Canoga Park (LA) store all this week. They can definitely help you. I don't know how successful you might be in reaching them by email. At one point, they were considering a change in servers away from AOL, therefore his AOL address would not work. #5. Optima P/N and more broken drop link stuff - from Matt Henson

Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2001 07:43:19 -0800 (PST) From: Matt Henson <hensonator@yahoo.com> Subject: Optima P/N and more broken drop link stuff Hey Y'all, First, I wanted to verify that the correct PN for the Optima Red battery is 800S. This unit is available for $115 at http://www.optimabattery.com/optima.cfm. Maybe someone knows where it's available for less. Also, a buddy took a picture of the M3 taking a hard corner at the autoX with the broken front sway bar drop link. http://home.austin.rr.com/hensons/AutoCross/P3040189.JPG That's with stock springs/bars. The moulding behind the front wheel is almost on the ground! The rear wheel would lift up on command. Anyway, I think I've found why it broke - I must have had it adjusted incorrectly. I'm thinking that the end link was too short and the bar hit the turbo pipe. Something had to give - better the end link than the bar or the frame mounting point. So It's not UUC's fault at all. The best solution will be to re-route that turbo pipe as AA has done in their Stage 2 and EVO 3 kit. I think I'll stick with the aluminum drop links.. Thanks to all who replied about the broken link! -Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail. http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/

First, I really like the look of the 8.5" up front. The Dominos Pizza, deep dish is good ;) I'd then have a set of 8.5" and 7.5" wheels... I was thinking the 8.5" would be my street wheels and the 7.5" could be my track tires. Pilot Sports are too damn expensive to scrub away on the track or autox....ya know? Brian Leib, who was one of the main contacts at TC Kline's shop, left recently. While this certainly doesn't excuse their lack of response, it may help to explain it. Apparently they also had some voice mail problems. On the plus side TC's shop really knows what it's doing from a technical point of view, and are usually very supportive. Let's hope they get their customer service act together again, and soon. Neil 96 M3

Do some of the E36M3's have a 17mm hex differential plug rather than 14mm hex. I know VW often uses 17mm hex for their differentials so maybe this is my confusion or that the transmission is a 17mm bolt. Does anyone have the Snap-On part numbers for either a 14mm or 17mm Allen Socket. Thanks in advance. Regards, Rich
