Those numbers, at least that neighborhood, are possible with cams, valves, high-comp pistons, lots of internal work, etc. Just ask Stickley ;-) Of course those numbers are only _easily_ reached with forced induction, especially for a street motor. Ahhh, you had to bring up Stickley ;-) Yeah he may be making something in the range of 365 - 380 hp but that has got to be just about max normally aspirated with no stone left unturned. I wonder if he truly makes that much (none the less, it appears he is close). This is also along the lines of normally aspirated 275 hp E30 M3 motors. Amazing they can squeeze that out of those liter 4 cylinders. Josh originally said "I've heard that with a 3.0, 380 bhp is achievable with an intake, exhaust, MAF, and chip, while with a 3.2, 365 can be expected." Josh clearly was not indicating the types of efforts that Charles has gone to with his LWT. I should have said "Those figures are only possible with some forced induction but NOT with just an intake, exhaust, chip and/or MAF". Regards, Rich

I just wanted to point out that those numbers are possible without forced induction, just not with "bolt-on" performance mods. All it takes is $$$... John

#5. Modify Oil canister for Cooler? - from Matt Henson
Top
Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 19:39:22 -0800 (PST) From: Matt Henson <hensonator@yahoo.com> Subject: Modify Oil canister for Cooler? Is it possible (practical?) To modify the US oil cooler canister to plumb an oil cooler? The feed shouldn't be a problem but the return could be. I suppose that it would be desirable to redirect the main oil path through the cooler plumbing. Then you'd want a thermostat that bypassed the cooler until the oil got to ~150F. Any ideas? What's the price of the euro housing? Thanks, Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail. http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/

As Jim C or Will T about it. Our dyno is on his site! 3.0, cams, conforti intake and program, euro air mass, 24lb injectors, header and that's it! There are some criteria to be met for the vehicle to qualify, and you are limited to a very low annual mileage - 2500 or so I think. Perhaps that's how this Lotus came in. Neil 96 m3

Oil pressure is limited to 58 psi max by a relief valve. I get oil temps up to 250-260F depending on ambient, but water temp always stays at the mid-point. Seems entirely consistent with what you're seeing. Neil 96 M3
