You're free to tint the rest of the car as dark as you want. If I were you I'd go to a window tinting shop and check if you're within what the law allows... Any shop has these. If not, you're only option is to rip it out. I had to. If you can get a doctor to write out some sort of statement declaring that you're extremely sensitive to sunlight and you therefore require the window tint, then you're in luck. Any doctors in the family? Now, this IS off topic, & I do apologize for it, but I don't really have anyone else to ask so please bear with me. So, does anyone know of a way to get out of this? Please help... Thanks much. To modify the US oil > : > cooler canister to plumb an oil cooler? > : > : I don't think so. No. Among the key missing features is the thermostatic valve that allows the oil to warm up. You don't wnat the cooler in the circuit unless it's needed. > : > What's the price of the euro housing? > : > : The price for the Euro oil filter housing is ~$300. > > You need more than the housing. We purchased just the parts w/Greg K's > help and it still cost us $650 each. + labor to install. And no *I* > would not even attempt to install it, but that's me ;) The housing is the key piece but it's true that many others are needed. Having someone assemble the kit who's BTDT helps. Korman and Bekkers come to mind. Once you get the housing, the VANOS supply line connection on the housing needs to be bored and re-tapped <or> the VANOS line needs to be modified. This is machine shop work. I wouldn't try it with my Craftsmen cordless and 98-piece Harbor Freight tap'n'die kit. I installed the kit myself and found the project managable. Key recollections include: 1. You have to cut a slot in the plastic air pipe that feeds the alternator in order to install the oil cooler lines. No way around it. Just do it. My alternator hasn't suffered. 2. You need to fabricate your own brackets to hang the oil cooler itself under the radiator. I got mine from Jeff Harker. If you have some time, some sheet steel, and basic tools, you can make your own. 3. You have to remove a lot of stuff from the front of the engine to do the job but you *do not* need to remove the water pump or open the cooling system. Once you have all the necessary pieces removed and the old housing off, you'll swear the car will never run again. Looks like you tossed a grenade under the hood. Don't panic because you and I know that "assembly is reverse". 4. If you have the JT Designs front underpanel, you'll need to move the stiffener back ~3 inches to clear the oil cooler. It's obvious once you get to the "assembly is reverse" stage. 5. Torque the housing down gently and properly. The gasket is pretty complex so you need to be careful. All in all I enjoyed the project immensely and learned alot in the process. Took me a whole Saturday but a lot of that time was head-scratching. I think I could do it again in 3 hours. Brett Anderson or Ben Thongsai could probably do it in twenty minutes. ....ned. '98 M3 w/ Euro this and Competition that '88 M5 x 2

Another way is to get a letter from an optometrist saying you have sensitive eyes. I too was caught about a year after I got them. I'm now naked in the front. So maybe I should shut up. jay '95 M3/2 _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Date: Fri, 09 Mar 2001 12:38:56 -0700 From: Josh <eurosprt@xmission.com> Subject: 300hp Conforti Cam Kit Brad isn't blowing smoke. I was at the tuning session for his M3 and it did put out 300hp. BTW we also carry this Conforti intake/fuel injector/camshaft/chip package. Price of the full package with everything that you need $2365 (this doesn't include the headers). The headers are only good for about 3hp and are therefore only recommended to those with money burning holes in their pockets. If you already have our intake system the package is $1499.
