(i tech it myself) and i look at the brakes and rotors and tires first. if they're even "sketchy" i won't get in that car. this is NOT the place to be less then 100%... i suppose you can, if you want, put the old ones back on for some more street driving after your track day. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

(similar to heat cycling tires) pf-90 pads (most race pads) have already had the heating part done for you. that's why they're easier to bed. street pads usually don't. so you need to try harder and make sure to get enough heat into them during bedding. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

I've been looking for an extended warranty for my 98 3/4/5 for about a week. I've found a reliable source that does 1yr 0% financing on the warranty. They take $400 up front and the remainder in monthly payments from your credit/debit card. So far I've talked them down $200 bucks from their advertised price. If there's enough interest, I may be able to get a better deal for all of us. Lemmeknow. - Chip p.s. As a side note, I had an extended warranty on my '93 325i and received more than triple the price in repairs. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Have I used it, nope. So far it has just been insurance. I have the window stopping problem and a seat heater out so I will get a buck or two back from it........but unless something major goes soon, I could have spent that money better elsewhere. Long story I won't go into. But , initial price was $1800 to take me to 100,000 miles / 7 years. Punchline: I bought it for $1265. So there is about $500 there to work for in dealer or sales person commissions alone, and this ignores the profit portion left for the warranty company to make. All that broke on my '95 was the water pump, the clutch slave cylinder, and brake light switch. So, they made money, but I'd do it again. - Skip 108k miles '95 M3 > > So far I've talked them down $200 bucks from their > advertised price. #7. Reaction to Potenza PP S-02 (no stagger) - from Eric Fesler

Date: Thu, 15 Mar 2001 06:51:24 -0800 From: "Eric Fesler" <eric@fesler.org> Subject: Reaction to Potenza PP S-02 (no stagger) So I have had my 99M3 for 8 months now running the standard stagger = with Pilot Sports. The rears had gone completely bald and the fronts were past the wear bars. So I made the change. I picked up the car with = the Pole Positions and 235 all around. After spending 15min scuffing the greasy stuff off the tires I decided to call my wife and meet her for dinner. (This way she drives her own car and I am not distracted by = the screaming). =20 Anyway, I never got them really hot but even so they felt better in several ways. I did not however notice any noise difference. They seemed to have a bit more at the limit. They really feel good as they start to go as well. The ride is more supple. As for no stagger, you can really rotate the car now. I can see that lifting is an ESPECIALLY bad idea now. Other than the last I am not sure how much of this is just new rubber and how much is rubber quality. But it sure makes me want to go out and drive. Looking forward to leaving them deposited on local roads and tracks so I can try out another set. =20 Cheers, Eric

I should have my new springs today (UPS willing). Jay did send me the 8" springs for the front and 7" springs for the rear. I will post a follow up when I get the chance. Also, if I can get my car cleaned up a bit, I may try to take some before and after pics. Thanks again, Greg -----Original Message----- From: Ron Katona [mailto:rkatona@bellatlantic.net] Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2001 5:47 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Re: My GC Coilover setup (long) Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2001 21:47:43 -0500 From: "Ron Katona" <rkatona@bellatlantic.net> Subject: Re: My GC Coilover setup (long) Greg, Eibach doesn't make 9" long , 2.5" ID springs according to their web site. They do make 8 inch-ers. They make 9" in the 2.25" ID, but I'm not sure you can fit those over the M3 front struts. BTW, the wheel moves 1.25" for every inch of spring travel on an E36 M3, so going from a 7" to 8" spring will raise the car 1.25". Going to a 9" spring will raise the car 2.5". If you can't get a 9", the next step is 10" which will undoubtedly be too tall. Ask Jay about the 8's. -- Ron Katona Greg Cernosek wrote: > I plan on talking to Jay (already left a message) about taller springs.
